the place was not even open
The place was not open!! The police told us the owner was no longer there and was being investigated. We had to find alternative accommodation at our cost after a long trip from England

Here's what I hate about this place. They aren't open, and they took my money. I had to get a more expensive room at a nearby hotel. I want my money back, and I want Expedia and all the other agency's that list this place to remove it from their listing's.

Location extremely good, very clean and tidy. Checking in and out system could be better, mostly faceless front desk.

Great location and price
Perfect for my needs, great location between downtown and old town. Room was clean and well presented, check in was easy, recommended for a short stay but some may prefer private bathrooms for a longer stay

The property was very conveniently located and moderately easy to find. It was fairly priced. What I hadn't.t realized, and no-one explained, was that it was really a hostel. Apart from a man who let me in the building, I saw no-one at all apart from 3 guests, one of whom explained that there was no breakfast provided. The room was basic as were the facilities. I wasn't even sure about payment. In fact I found the charges had been taken out of my bank account without my knowledge. Not exactly welcoming and no-one to explain anything.

Pleasantly surprised by this property. Brilliant central location, minutes from all the places you want, very clean and although it was a small room it was ideal for me as a solo traveller. Warm cosy room with a very comfortable bed, sink in the room for brushing your teeth etc. If you want your own room, Reykjavik isn’t cheap, but so happy with this place. Shared shower room/toilet was absolutely fine. I was on the 3rd floor with a view down the street, I suppose if you are in the lower ground it is less ideal. Corridors can be a little noisy when people wheel cases passed but this honestly doesn’t bother me. I walked to the property from the Central Bus station in about 12 minutes. It is a lovely peaceful place. Staff lovely, easiest check in and out ever. I would very happily stay here again, which I think is always the true mark of a good place. ❤️

Although there weren’t toilets in the rooms, there were many toilets and showers on each floor. During the time of year we went (late October), there was always at least one available to use. We liked we had access to the kitchen and appliances there, allowing us to buy groceries and store them in the fridge/freezer as needed. The staff were friendly and willing to help and offer advice when asked. Check-out was really simple - leaving key at front desk even when we had to leave in early am hours to catch our flight. Doors opening and closing can be quite loud but for the most part, it is quiet. Some guests were very loud which is less a reflection on the guesthouse itself. All in all, we had a great stay in Iceland, partly due to the accommodations being right downtown and in walking distance to so many attractions.

This guesthouse is the noisiest place I've ever stayed in Europe. The room doors seem to have some propelled door slammer built into them, and the shared bathrooms are in nonstop use. I got NO SLEEP. Plus, the rooms are teeny, and the place has zero charm. we rarely saw any sign of the owners. Not worth the relatively cheap price!

People are moving up and down the aisles morning and night clanking around. They forget there are people in the small rooms right along the same area. They need a sign in the hallway to maintain quiet 11 pm-6 am. I mentioned it to the desk person. Other than that, very small ok rooms.

The property is fine. Our room had a sink, which helped avoid a lineup in the shared washrooms when it came time to brush your teeth. The rooms were basic, as were the washrooms, but they appeared clean. The guesthouse is in the downtown area so it can be loud at night and our room window faced a wall, so not the best of views, but overall it was fine.

The stay was average at best. Not the cleanest place. There was a dead bug on my fresh towel. It’s okay if you just need a tiny bed to sleep on for a few nights. If you have the money to spend, book a hotel

Probably the cheapest place in the downtown. But the room is small as a jail cell. If you just take buses and live 30 minutes away from downtown, you will find much better deals.
