Highly recommend this beautiful hotel!
We stayed between 10th-16th August 2024 and we were so happy we got to stay at this hotel when we booked last minute. We were lucky enough that the only room left was superior double (room 22, 3rd floor) and was blown away by the view from the balcony, the photos do not do it justice! The room was clean, spacious with plenty of storage and a comfy large bed. From the minute we arrived staff were friendly and helped us book a taxi to Verona. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices. The cakes, real honeycomb and scrambled eggs were our favourite. We looked forward to sitting on the terrace overlooking the well kept gardens. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and sun beds in the garden. The hotel itself was a perfect location for us to walk 30 seconds to a Despar shop, into the old town, to the cable car and a 3 min walk to the beach and port. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who would like a relaxing and luxury stay in Lake Garda.

Exceptional hotel! Great views of the lake and castle, juat a few minutes walk to Malcasine centre where there are lots of lovely shops and restaurants.
We had a beautuful room with a balcony. Large and comfortable room, tea and coffee, comfy bed, great shower and all spotlessly clean.
Breakfast was great with plenty of healthy choices. The staff were so helpful and friendly, couldnt do enough for you.
We also used the hotel bikes free of charge and cycled round to Riva. Be aware that there are lots of tunnels and you should wear hi viz. There is a fabulous bike/walking track around much of the lake.
The ferry is a great way to get across the lake.

Perfect, peaceful stay in Malcesine
A perfect hotel in Malcesine! Large balcony with a stunning view of the castle and lake beyond. Bright, clean, spacious room. Helpful staff. Central location, but just enough removed as to feel peaceful. I would absolutely stay here again!

We were really lucky to have a room with a balcony, view of the castle and the lake. The hotel was really clean, our room was quite large and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, just a couple of minutes walk from the old town. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay and highly recommend
Very helpful service at check in. Helped make spot for car and made sure everything was good in the room. Room view was wonderful view of Lake Garda. Rooms are very nice and appear to have been recently remodeled. Short walk to village and very close to cable car.

The location is fabulous! Amazing views of the castle and easy walking distance to town center, cable car, and hikes. The garden is a piece of paradise and I didn't see any other hotels with anything as nice. Service was friendly and efficient. Both the front desk staff and dining manager helped us a lot - booked us on a free walking tour, helped us decipher ferry timetables, and patiently answered all our questions. Breakfast was huge and delicious (though it was pretty much the exact same items every day so by the end of the week we were ready for a change). The room was basic but clean and comfortable... and that view! We'd definitely stay there again.

Relaxing
A beautiful lake town. The hotels garden was a huge plus, after a long day in town and on the mountain a drink in the afternoon sun was a delicious ending to the day before venturing out for dinner. Breakfast was very well catered for and satisfying. Thank you!

Lake Garda
Weekend trip at Lake Garda. I was glad I had read the reviews so I was prepared for no soap or shampoo. I wasn't prepared for a request to sort and bin my rubbish I asked for a kettle which was provided quickly along with some peppermint tea. I was sble to leave my bag at the hotel after check out.

Hotel Ariston is the perfect place to stay.
We spent an incredible week in Malcesine and the Hotel Ariston was the perfect base for exploring everything Lake Garda has to offer. We stayed in room 25 at the far left hand side of the the top (third) floor. Great room with a breathtaking view of the castle and the lake. When we made the booking I was uncertain whether we should splash out a little extra to stay on the top floor and go for one of the rooms with a view of the lake but with hindsight it was the best decision we made. Room 25 was very modern and spacious and has a superb balcony but it was the views that really made it for us. Some of the other rooms have a view of the mountain which is nice but if you can, go for a room with a lake view.

Nice hotel, well situated for town and lake
Lovely small family run hotel which was full but not crowded. Staff all very friendly from reception to maids to breakfast. Waiter even remembered each tables different requests. Lovely breakfast either inside or outside overlooking the picturesque gardens.
Comfortable room with everything expected and balcony with mountain views.
Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would stay here again.

A Hotel for All Seasons
This is a small friendly family run hotel. The staff are very helpful and obliging. It is situated a few minutes walk from the centre of town but away from the hustle and bustle of Malcesine. Standards of cleanliness are excellent, with an attention to detail. The hotel provides a buffet style breakfast with a wide choice. Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the gardens. Alternatively one could dine inside. Drinks are available throughout the day. The beds are comfortable and the room size is adequate with plenty of storage space. There are views of the lake or mountains, depending on which side of the hotel the room is. All rooms are air conditioned and have balconies. Roller shutters keep out the light and mid-day heat. The tranquil gardens are well kept and provide a relaxing haven after a day's sight seeing. I would definitely stay in this hotel again.

You pay for the view!
We stayed during week of 4 May 2015. I expected a higher grade hotel paying £100 per night - the hotel is basic but what you are paying for is the stunning view from the bedrooms and the location, which was worth it for our 2 night stay in Macesine.
Greeting on arrival was great.
Room was basic and felt dated but i am led to believe that this is common for hotels in Lake Garda and part of it's charm. We slept well - beds were comfortable and it was quiet.
It was very clean but soap/shower gel/ hand wash in the bathroom would have been a nice touch.
The view from our balcony was stunning over looking the castle and lake.
Slight incline up to hotel may not be suitable for people with walking difficulties.
Breakfast was disappointing. The service was also disappointing. There was only one person serving hot drinks, and the tea i received was luke warm. The selection of food was basic (continental breakfast offered only). This was fine for us but I expected better quality of food in a hotel that was £100 per night.
I would recommend to someone visiting Lake Garda for a short stay (2-3 nights only). Longer term stays, i feel you would want better facilities and food.
