Excellent Location and Rooms
The Renaissance has an excellent location at the border of Otrobanda and Munda- accessible to many activities and restaurants and very safe, even at night. My room was spacious, ergonomic, and included a large, flat-screen TV with plentiful American channels and Netflix, with clear reception. In addition, the hotel restaurant buffet menu and food were high quality, both for breakfast and dinner, albeit expensive ($32 USD for breakfast and $50 for dinner. I enjoyed the hotel's man-made beach and saltwater wave pool, although my eyes stung after swimming laps in the pool- too much chlorine. The wave pool and man-made beach was satisfactory to me. However, some people may be disappointed at the lack of a natural beach and accompanying ocean water.

We absolutely loved our stay (despite the short power outage we experienced)! Our flight home got canceled, so we chose to stay here for the night and leave the The Rif, the hotel we were originally staying that. They completely blew The Rif out of the water! The reception staff was so kind, and Alexis who helped us with our bags was awesome. We told them it was our birthday and they want the extra mile to decorate the room, give us champagne and a cake at NO extra cost! The infinity pool that looks over the ocean is a view you cannot beat! EVERYTHING is in walking distance which is great! Food, shopping, the infamous bridge, downtown, and even KFC haha! I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this resort, I doubt you’ll regret it!

Unfortunately, as I write this we are leaving to head back to Canada after spending a week here. We rented a car from across the road we ate locally almost ever night. The doormen Alexis and Roland were always pleasant, kind and offering water and a hand wipe head towel. The breakfast was amazing along with the fresh smoothies and omelettes. A great experience with some fun in the evenings at the Casino.

The dining options close too early. Manuel was the worst server, I had to find him to ask him for everything. The other staff was very nice especially the front doormen. Our room temperature wasn't cool enough when we adjusted it to the lowest setting. I paid extra for a balcony and partial ocean view that was facing the cruise port, not worth the money I didn't use it.

Loved our stay at the Renaissance!!! The staff is the best of any resort we have stayed at anywhere!!! Nothing but friendly and accommodating in every way from the bar/restaurant staff to housekeeping, to front desk. Everyone made us feel welcome and at home! The resort was beyond clean and very beautiful. The breakfast was fantastic and those pumpkin pancakes are the only pancakes I have ever eaten without syrup because they are just that good!! The drinks were great and the beach bar staff kept our cups filled at all times with a smile!! The only slight tweak I would make would be to add more menu items to the beach bar and 5 O’Clock restaurant, but that’s really a small thing. Overall, 5 plus stars all the way!!! Thank you for a great and relaxing week!!!
