My only complaint was that the door is extremely heavy. It was a handicapped room and no one who was alone in a wheelchair would be able to open the door without assistance. Also the curtains were askew and unable to be opened. I was told that they were “waiting for a part” and to allow the time to have that happen.

This was a last-minute stop six hours into a nine hour trip. It was a great location and the rate was very good. The room was very clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. Hampton Inn has a great reputation and this one lived up to it. It’s not a luxury hotel but it is a very good safe family hotel, and met our needs perfectly.

The room was in poor condition with shoddy repairs. It is clear the hotel hasn't updated anything in 15 years. There were stains on the carpet and the walls were scuffed throughout. There wasn't a bar in the closet to hang clothes. The prices were marked up considerably ($400 a night) for a JMU event. For the price we paid, the room was unacceptable. Having said that, the receptionists at the front desk were pleasant and as helpful as possible considering the room's presentation. We cut our stay short due to the room's condition and the cost of the stay. We were refunded for the second night.
