Rundown, dirty & neglected
Terrible experience:
- the hotel is dirty like it was uninhabited for years and then hastily reopened - there is a solid layer of dust around the beds and along the walls.
- the scanner is broken so they just take a picture of your passport with their personal phones
- Everything is in poor condition.
- The staff do not seem to have experience in hospitality; when I arrived they gave me a single room with a broken heater and insisted I had made a reservation for 1 (I had made it for 2 people to get a bigger room).
- The “satellite tv” is only five channels and was broken when I got there and for three days until I brought up getting a partial refund.
- The smoking ban is not enforced; guests and staff’s friends smoke and I even saw one man put out his butt on a tree
- door bolt is easily jiggled open from outside
- there is no restaurant or bar
- the description photos are all inaccurate, look like they were taken decades ago
- the satin coverlet on my bed was smelly. When I told the staff they agreed that it smelled weird and that it was because it had never been washed and never would be washed, like the curtains, because you can’t wash that fabric
- the wallpaper is old, sagging, and held up with tape
- piles of old newspapers everywhere, much of the hotel used for storage
I could go on, but in summary: dirty, barely inhabitable, staff that act like you’re staying in their house, should not be listed on Hotels.com, should be made to update all photos.
