Pretty good as the only option in 'town'
As the only motel lodging within 80-100 miles in any direction, this is an IDEAL place for visiting Great Basin National Park. Great, friendly folks and a funky setup: The bar/restaurant/casino/convenience store are in Nevada; your room is in Utah, as are the gas pumps.

Right on The state line
Joe was awesome. He ran the restaurant orders, the general store, the bar and hotel and he did an excellent job

Paying for proximity to park - Room was awful
You are paying for proximity to Great Basin National Park. For over $100 per night, I expected more though. The bathroom had paper cups filled with soap, about to leak everywhere and the fixtures were barely functioning. The heating unit would not stay on and had to be reset throughout the night. The mattresses were extremely worn with no support left. There was a place where a TV had once been on the wall but was no longer present. And yet we could hear what sounded like a TV through the wall as we tried to sleep. Very disappointed … For $50/night fine, but not for $100+.

Fun and cozy spot next to great basin
Friendly staff, clean rooms, very convenient to have gas, a general store, and restaurant attached. Food at the restaurant was good for the price. It was an easy drive to Great Basin. There’s also an area to play pool and darts in the casino section which is fun.

It was giid, The heater was automatically set to keep the room warm. So they definitely were generous there. Very interesting place. Right off 50, so you can be on the road in no time.

2/10 Poor

Eh…
Um- run down, smelly, no amenities. The photos make it look nicer than it was. To the hotels credit- the non smoking room didn’t smell that bad of cigarette smoke- although everywhere else in the premises wreaked. It did the job- our family slept for the night and got our basic needs met. But would never stay here again.

Run don't stay here
Parking lot is completely dark the light outside the door didn't work. Our smoke detector chirped multiple times and when reported he said I'll tell the manager. No TV in the room even though the pictures show one. You don't get soap or cups. They did allow the second night to be canceled and refunded. You're paying to be near Great Basin but I'd drive farther

No TV at Border Inn
Two key issues were big negatives. There was no TV in the room and the refrigerator smelled very bad. The place in the middle of nowhere was interesting, and you don’t expect a lot, but no TV?

Needs serious upgrade. Bathroom was in really sad shape. Suggest to go into the small town of Baker (6 miles) for a decent room and dinning options.

Clean but old
The people were very nice especially the waitress in the restaurant, and the room was clean. The room itself was very old and had numerous mechanical problems: the outlets were worn out and wouldn’t hold the plugs so we were in able to charge our devices; the air conditioner didn’t keep the room cool and it was VERY noisy; some of lights did not work including the outside light so we had to use our phone light to unlock the door; multiple faucet diverters turned the wrong way. Finally, the wireless didn’t work at all.

The room was comfortable enough, it was mostly just intended to be a place to stay while enjoying the park. The restaurant food was good and all the staff were very friendly.

Had WiFi and bar with great burgers available! Room had a bed, shower, roof, and walls, which is all I needed. There's not much available given the location and place gets the job done!
