8/10 Very Good

The bumpy drive up the valley, 10mins out of town is worth it once you arrive at this gated resort, with beautiful manicured gardens, running streams & stunning mountains on either side. The cabins are essentially posh tents/glamping but with comfy beds, large bathroom & a small area to store luggage, with a stove fire & fridge. The shower was very temperamental, hot & cold but the cabin was spotlessly clean. Staff all friendly, good shuttle service into town & the external laundry company used was very cheap & efficient. We really enjoyed using the fire pit each evening. Only thing we would suggest is more informstion about the resort at check in or in the rooms, rather than expecting guests to Watsap or ask. Overall a pleasant stay, if you want to get away from the tourists but rather expensive for essentially glamping!

The property is beautiful, quiet and relaxing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Note that food options are limited given that its an eco lodge with foods prepared from their own garden. This was nice, but we struggled with feeding the kids, especially since the town is 10 minutes away by car and the property van to town stops running at 6pm. They also do not offer complimentary tea, whicj is available in every other hotel we stayed at in high altitude Peru.

Rest and relaxation after hiking
Our family of three stayed at this resort for three nights after hiking the Inca trail. It is a fabulous resort with excellent service and beautiful grounds and separate cabins. My husband and I each enjoyed a massage and we ate in the restaurant every evening for their set dinner which was always delicious. They have an on site tour operator who worked with us to plan a great day trip of mountain biking and sight seeing. This is a fabulous resort and l worth the expense of you want to splurge and pamper yourself. Just make sure you take some time to enjoy the resort itself.

2/10 Poor

Our stay was extremely disappointing. After a long journey from the USA to Lima, then Cusco, and finally a three-hour drive in the dark, we arrived at the hotel exhausted. Once we showered and were ready to rest, I found a large hair on the bed that clearly wasn’t mine. When I called reception, they said they had no one available to change the sheets. I requested two pillowcases and a blanket so I could at least sleep on top of the covers. The staff member provided the items but mentioned she needed the blanket back in the morning as it was taken from another guest room. She also promised that the bedsheets would be changed in the morning. The next day, after a full day at Machu Picchu, we were supposed to be picked up at the train station at 10:00 PM. It was dark, late, and cold, and we were surrounded by street dogs fighting each other, with our kids scared and the driver nowhere to be found. The driver arrived 15 minutes late, leaving us waiting in the cold and dark. When we returned to the hotel, exhausted and ready to sleep, I noticed that the bedsheets hadn’t been changed as promised. The same stain from the previous night was still there. I called the front desk again, and this time a different staff member told me there was still no housekeeper available to change the sheets. Exhausted, I asked for fresh sheets and made the bed myself. The following morning, as we were leaving, we needed assistance with our luggage. After waiting in the car for 45 minutes, my husba

Beautiful and peaceful property, loved the breakfast (we ordered everything!), dinner and cocktails from bar. Also enjoyed the spa - hydro-circuit therapy was refreshing and massages were excellent. It is further from town, but that’s why we chose this lodge. After our 4-day trek, we very much appreciated the rest. Shuttle service was easy to arrange and always on time. Staff were kind and helpful, arranged everything requested, efficiently. We stayed 2 nights and wished we had stayed longer.

I stayed a total 4 nights. Be prepared for a rough 2-hr ride from Cusco to the resort. The safari tent, tranquility, greenery and all made the journey worthwhile. The staff and drivers were professional and helpful. I looked forward to the daily breakfast which was scrumptious and wholesome. Free shuttles were provided to and fro the resort, town and train station. The resort kept my luggage while I made a day trip to Machu Picchu. The only downside was the inconsistent water temperature which happened at the 2 different tents I stayed.

Very helpful staff. Their help started a month prior to our arrival. I had a lot of help via whatsapp from the front desk and they coordinated transportation from Cusco and arranged a visit of Ollantaytambo and the surroundings with a local travel company that did a very good job

This place is amazing. It’s very conveniently located and the rooms are very spacious and clean. The restaurant onsite is very good. The best part about this place is the hospitality of the staff. They go out of the way to make your stay comfortable. I will stay here again.

Very nice property for our family. The rooms were clean and the grounds/views were exceptional. Food was excellent as well as the service. Everyone one that worked there was extremely nice and willing to help. The only gripe is that the hot water was a bit erratic at times.

Everything about Las Qolqas is AMAZING! Especially the incredible staff: Kate, Maryann and Xiomara at the front desk are friendly, kind, fun, super responsive, and helped us at every turn, going way above and beyond what you typically hope for at a property. We were happy to see Charly, Jac and Leonela at the bar/restaurant for our meals; they made each of our meals a fun occasion and provided excellent service. (And the food is spectacularly delicious with gorgeous presentation, using local produce, including herbs and flowers grown on the property). Laura is the spa therapist; she is a lovely person who made our spa time an outstanding experience - both calming and rejuvenating. The housekeeping and grounds staff do an incredible job; the tent/villas are gorgeous, immaculate, and the beds are super comfortable. The grounds are beautiful, and the setting, by a river and at the foot of the Andes, is breathtaking. The lodge is a short distance from Ollantaytambo and Las Qolqas provides easy and free shuttle service to the plaza and to the train station. They arranged a tour to a nearby weaving village, providing a box lunch and an incredible guide. I would not change a thing about Las Qolqas. We have traveled quite a bit; Las Qolqas is the overall best place we've stayed. Can't wait to go back!

Absolutely amazing experience here. Would highly recommend! The grounds are extremely well cared for and the staff are extremely accommodating. It is remote in the valley between two mountains and truly is an escape. The best part is they grow fruits, herbs, and veggies on the property which the chef uses to create daily menu specials.

The place is astonishing, in one of the most beautiful valleys, surrounded by mountains and green spaces. 30-40mn walk to city Ollantaytambo. Available free shuttle. Clean and spacious Tents, kids loved it. Beds can be more comfortable, were very acceptable though. Lacked coffe and tea in the tents. You have to ask for filtered water if you need more, a fountain would be better. Hot tub is not free, you have to pay around 30 USD per hour per person ( it is free in most other countries). Over all, i think it is the best you can find in Ollantaytambo.

This property is absolutely beautiful. It is family friendly comfortable and the food is wonderful. The spa services were great after a happy day of hiking the ruins at Ollantaytambo. That experience and the additional hike to Putamarka were absolute treasures provided to us through the experiences coordinator. If You are able please ask for Christian as your guide. He is local to the town and an absolute treasure of a guide as well as a tremendous human being. He provided fascinating insights and local treasures. He made sure our pace was good and he expressed true kindness and interest in our family. My daughter teared up as we parted on our second day declaring how much she would miss him; then he provided us with little statues of meaningful animals we had learned about during our tours and hikes. These are the types of experiences Las Qolqas provides to the travelers lucky enough to stay with them. In south Florida or California an experience like this would cost thousands and thousands of dollars. Every penny you spend here is worth it.
