The tranquil surroundings.
Nice homely hotel, with a nice bar with very comfortable seating with a good choice of beers. Nice looking out at the distant view in the mornings with the snow covered hills and nearby properties it was nice getting out in the clean fresh air with very little traffic about.

Great for families
We booked two rooms. The one the kids stayed in was lovely and cosy. Ours was freezing. Despite the staff saying they were on it, I don't think a fix was even possible. The beds were clear and comfortable. The hotel building is marvellous and all the staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. I think it would be great for a family with primary school age kids. There are loads of board games; a pool that, isn't lifeguarded but also isn't too deep (it's a bit cold but kids don't usually mind that). It's a very short walk (5 mins to the main street) but you need to negotiate some muddy steps - no good for a family with a buggy or mobility issues. We had a fantastic stay.

Lovely stay
Had a lovely stay with my partner and our dog. The scenic view room was massive and worth paying the extra for. The breakfast buffet was good with all needs catered for. The hotel is extremely dog friendly with dogs being allowed in the bar area. The singer for entertainment was also very good. Only negative is some of the building is looking a little run down but there were signs of maintenance taking place e.g. painting. We loved our stay and would return.

January Blues
I booked an impromptu overnight trip to Pitlochry for my wife and I to chill out and relax. Check in was straightforward and we were given a room with a view of sorts, basically a view of the car park and a part of the hills. Room unfortunately smelled of wet dog, it was clean but there was a lingering smell. We adjourned to the bar for a few drinks and then ordered some food, you pay for the food before you get it not s fan of that also it was pointed out if I wanted to leave a tip when I was paying, sorry not until I’ve tasted the food. The food itself was nothing spectacular just your average burgers, pizza, steak pie etc and if you choose to have this option then you sitting on sofas with a coffee table to eat, not ideal or you can opt for the restaurant that’s better seating. Sleep was disturbed by what sounded like a karaoke party going on but unsure where as nothing was happening in the bar, Breakfast was the buffet style with option of cooked or cold food, patisseries , yoghurts etc The hotel looks like it’s had a revamp, rooms are clean but missing a things to do in the area. Didn’t use the leisure facilities on this trip. Would I stay there again, yes hoping that it was just a one off

A pleasant Faulty Towers
Very run down. Toilet seat broken. Told it was fixed but fell off again. No fixings. No bed side lights working. Staff were lovely and entertainment a pleasant surprise. Food was lovely too. Could be a fabulous accommodation but money is needing spent to upgrade it.

Cold drafty, dated room
The room was very cold, dated and tired. The windows were deted and drafty and full of condensation. It needed a full makeover. Certainly not a superior room as advertised.

Perfect get away.
Lovely friendly hotel, perfect for the weekend break or longer. Rooms are large and a wee bit chilly but delighted to see a spare heater for the room which solved the problem. Good sized swimming pool. Will be back.

Say hi to Zoltan...
We were in Pitlochry to attend "The sound of music" at The festival theatre. We found the hotel to be good value for money, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will stay again when back in Pitlochry. Allan and Fiona.
