There was a bed, and no breakfast
This was a disappointing stay. The accommodation and services I reviewed, booked and paid for were not what I got. First, I was unable to reach the owner prior to check in. When we arrived on time for check in, I was told the room was not ready and the owner was not thrilled that we brought our dogs, despite the listing describing this place as pet friendly. This was off putting, but not the worst part. We came back a couple hours later and this is when I found out the Deluxe room with kitchenette was no longer available, and we were put in a small room downstairs. At this point, my kids and dogs have been in a car all day and Im exhausted, so I think maybe the service will make up for it. WRONG, no mention of the champagne service or hors d'oeuvres from the host that night. And when I asked about breakfast, I was ignored. AT A BED AND BREAKFAST. The room was nice enough if I had traveled alone, but I booked my original reservation specifically for the experience/service and larger space. We were in town to visit a family member at Ft. Moore and I'd caution other military affiliated guests from patronizing this business.

Horrible Stay. Unprofessional host.
I wouldn't stay here again...even if it was free. I'll just hit the major points, First...even though at the time of booking it was advertised as a bed and breakfast...and our booking stated breakfast included, we received nothing. Not even coffee! I texted the owner the night before about the details for breakfast. It took her 10 hours to respond, only to tell us they aren't serving breakfast and she'd be happy to recommend restaurants and coffee shops. Second...we were only staying one day. Since we weren't being served the advertised breakfast or coffee we decided to just pack up and leave. We went to take a shower and the hot water in the shower didn't work. I messaged the owner at 9:10 am. She messaged me back at 11:52 am. Mind you, check out was at 11:00 am and we had already left the property. So beside no breakfast and no coffee we also had no shower. We were staying at the cottage across the street. The owner may say texting is not her preferred method of communication, but seriously..its 2022. We're across the street, not in the same building. If she can get a phone call she can get a text. On top of all this, the hot water and the lack of providing breakfast were all known issues to the owners. Just read the other bad reviews about it. You're now for-warned...and I'm not even telling you about the lack of cleanliness (for which we have pictures) or her insulting text messages (which are still on my phone). Can't wait for their snarky response

Read the fine print. Must contact the hotel at least 24 hours in advance to make arrangements for check in. Have no idea why this property is available on Expedia for same day bookings. I made a reservation for same day check in and no one was at the property when we arrived. My phone calls went straight to VM. I received a call from the property 2 days later. Fortunately we were able to make reservations at a different nearby hotel otherwise we would have been stranded.

Was a very nice Victorian style unit. I did not get the room that I booked. Needed to ask for toilet paper as only a small amount was on the roll. I did find a cob web on the headboard. Overall was a nice stay however I thought It was a bread n breakfast and it wasn’t

Attractive Victorian house but they did not know we were coming. Two hour delay in check in. We were shown our lovely room and that was all we saw of our “host”. No internet password if we needed something there was no one to contact. No access to the public space, no morning coffee and NO BREAKFAST at a true bed and breakfast. In the morning we just left our room with no contact with anyone Not sure why I spent the extra money to stay here I feel ripped off

I was surprised by all the negative reviews; I suspect part of it is that many people don't know what to expect from 19th-century houses in the South. The truth is, they will never be perfect—unless you have an endless reserve of money to dedicate to upkeep, and who does? I'd characterize this place as delightfully quirky. The neighborhood is scenic and historic, quiet, and seems quite safe. All or part of the main house is closed for renovations, so I was in one of the cottages next door, accessible via a path behind the house. My room was to the left, and another was directly across from me. There was also a small patio table on the deck outside where I sat and read one day during the rare pleasant Alabama weather (before it gets unbearably hot). The staff was helpful and friendly, and the owner always responded to messages. If sometimes it took a little long to actually get what I'd asked for, I'm fairly certain it's because they're short-staffed like everyone else in hospitality right now. I had no trouble checking in. The owner never did text me instructions, but she was on site when I arrived so there was really no need. Since it says toiletries are provided, I didn't pack any myself and there weren't any in the room when I got there. But I texted her, and she brought me what I needed even though it was 9 or 9:30 by then. In any case, I enjoyed my stay, and I hope I can go back and see it once the renovations are finished.

I am not sure if they rated this hotel 100 years ago but in this time line, a hostel is a 5 star compare to that death trap of place. Customers service is none existence. That place need to be shut down. The owners have given up on the upkeep and disregard all complaints. Read all reviews but my recommendations it to stay away. Do not waste your money and forget about the breakfast. Their is none and the place is filthy, you wouldn't want none anyway.

We were unable to stay at the Inn due to there not being anyone on the premises when we arrived and no answer to our phone calls and messages (even after waiting two hours). We then spent about an hour on an online chat with Expedia trying to get a refund and are still awaiting a response the next day.

i thought i would have a room in this house, as the picture on the left shows; i was never allowed in this house, and was told to stay in some little home; it was okay, but i was looking forward to staying in where this picture is; and you also promised a breakfast, and there was NO breakfast; and i even had to ask for coffee; there was a tv, with cable, but you had blocked fox news!!! how dare you! what is going on there??? and i never really saw anyone associated with the hotel after i checked it, rather strange; overall it was okay, like the history of the place, the location, and the unique shotgun house; so....1. undo the blocking of fox news, 2. have breakfast as you promised, 3. floring in the bath should be looked into....

Old, but not in a cool way.
Pretty disappointed. We stayed in one of the cottages and not many things worked correctly. The toilet leaked so it refilled every few minutes the entire stay. The tub dripped, the front door handle didn’t work, the shower light didn’t work, and the bathroom door had been chewed extensively by a dog at some point. It just didn’t seem like there was much attention to detail. Very dated but not in a cool restored way. The mirror hung over the fireplace was so off center it was comical. Overall we were really disappointed.

The property was not as represented. The location was great however the property was in need of repair. We did not get the room we booked. The proprietor said we were upgraded to a cottage. Sounded good until we arrived. There was mold on the bed pillow. The thermostat control face was broken off and when we managed to turn the heat on, the dust was annoying. We checked and the HVAC register was Clogged with dust and there was no filter. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling, and the shower floor was in need of a good cleaning. The only closet in the property had a broken door handle making it nearly impossible to open. The toilet ran all night until I shut off the water supply. We were told no breakfast because we were upgraded. It would have been nice if this were communicated prior to arriving. The unit had a full kitchen unfortunately there was only 1 coffee cup. The proprietor seemed very nice and welcoming on the phone but when we pointed out the shortcomings and decided to check out, she told us that the mold was just a stain, and that we were too pickey. We paid for one night of our 4 night stay and checked out. The manager did authorize a refund for the remaining nights. I suspect the proprietor doesn't have the resources to keep the facilities up to code. It is very unfortunate because the location is very good and the property has lots of potential.

This house is a beautiful home built in 1870 in a great neighborhood just 2-3 blocks away from some great dining options. The room we stayed in was nice but there were a few issues that we experienced. *The toilet ran constantly. When we arrived, the toilet was shut completely off. I turned the water back on from the valve behind the toilet and the water ran continuously. We had to keep the bathroom door shut to lessen the noise it made. *The television didn't work. There was no remote to the cable box and no batteries in the television remote. They brought us a cable remote but to turn the tv on, you had to get up and switch it on at the tv. *There was only one bar of soap left in the bathroom. We had to ask for another bar of soap for the shower. There were no small bottles of shampoo left either. *The handle for the hot water in the shower broke off. You had to jam the handle back in to get the hot water to turn on. *There was only one roll of almost used up toilet paper left in the bathroom. We had to ask for more TP as well. *We never received check-in or check-out instructions. I walked into the B&B after arriving there and had no idea where I was supposed to go. After calling three times, I got somebody to answer the phone and direct me to which room I should go to. When I voiced my disappointment regarding our experience, they suggested that I might should find another place to stay in Columbus. The toilet and shower handle were never fixed.
