The place for the low budget
This hotel is in the outskirts of Leipzig, locals call it little Bagdad. Let me approach it from a neutral side.
It is cheap, it has a nice staff, they try hard to make your stay good. The premises are very dated. Stems from the old socialist area and ahs that charme well preserved. It is clean but no amenities at all. If you look for a cheap stay to rest your head it will work. The Tram is close and gets you to the city comfortably. If you want to spend time in your room, not the place to go. Breakfast is ok, nothing to write home about but fresh rolls and cheese and other stuff. I leave it at that.

Good hotel in a run down town
Very helpful and friendly staff. Good breakfast. No food served at night so you have to go and try to find something, but the area is not too good so it's pretty much a choice of various fast food places.

Obnoxious reception clerk mishandles overbooking
We booked two rooms within the same reservation to find the overbooked hotel found us one room, not too, at another hotel 7km away. The reception personnel lied to us in multiple ways before the actual showdown: first pretended to have misunderstood the reservation as an accidental double-booking, then claiming to have sent us an email warning us about an accident. Our complaints that our reservation should not be split in two rooms so far away was meet with the most obnoxious attitude I have experienced in twenty years of frequent hotel stays for business and leisure. You do see the quality of the service when situations like this one have to be dealt with. Don't stay here.

Great cheap hotel close to station in Leipzig
We have used this hotel twice now on the way to visiting my daughter. It has 24 hour reception, helpful friendly staff and an excellent breakfast. It is just across the road from Sellerhausen station but if you get the tram, the Sellerhausen stop is about 100m from the hotel.

Cheap hotel, but little bit neglected
We've stayed in this hotel just one night. It was a good deal, but we were a little bit dissappointed about overall hotel's condition and cleanliness. Looks like the room hasn't been cleaned for days, the same regarding the dining area (although breakfast was very nice).

Hotel Adler Leipzig
The room was small but clean and comfortable. The neighborhood was full of vacant buildings with graffitti and broken windows, but it is perfectly safe. I was satisfied with everything except the quality of the breakfast and the internet service was free, but the server wasn't working most of the time. The room price was right and it was a short tram ride to the Bahnhof and Innenstadt.

Hard to find, but comfortable
Everything about this hotel was OK once I found it. It is actually very close to the Sellerhausen train station, and within sight from the station platform. But it was surprisingly difficult to get this information and to find out how to get a train from the Hauptbahnhof to Sellerhausen (a four-minute ride). Inquire at the information desk at the Hauptbahnhof.

Definitely Worth Considering.
A pleasant, comfortable hotel with friendly staff and (importantly for me) a breakfast buffet included in the rate! It may be slightly out of the centre but in a city with such excellent public transport this is no problem, particularly as there are several tram stops within five minutes of the hotel door.
Overall, I couldn't fault it and for a picky sort like me that's praise indeed!

Nice Hotel
Nice hotel, renovated about 4-5 years old. There was a problem with me reservation and people at the hotel were very helpful. Breakfast was pretty good. About 6 stops on the tram from the train station and the city center, direct line (7,8). Close to KUBUS center (10-15 min walk). Room was pretty large by European standards. Train line next to the hotel didn't bother me. Would gladly stay there again.
