Secluded, quiet location with very friendly hosts. Excellent communication and suggestions on local events. Great family getaway- the kids loved the cats, dogs and new friends! We loved it and will be back!

I stayed at the 'Shouse' for a few days on a writing/work retreat. Great location in the country. It was quiet and peaceful, and just a short (~20 min) drive into Decorah. Loved the long private gravel driveway for walks. Internet connection was essential for me and was solid the entire time. The property managers, Heidi and Kevin, were wonderful and communication was great.

Fun nice property for a walk. Close hosts that respected privacy. Had a good time fishing around decorah and hiking. Our dogs are already asking when they can go visit willow and Bailey again.

We didn't want to leave! The Shouse is the perfect combination of privacy and accessibility. The property is very quiet and out in the beautiful farm fields of Iowa. We loved the open space for our two boys to run around and the property even has a small swing set that we enjoyed. The shouse is so quiet and you can see a million stars at night. However, you are just 15 minutes away from Decorah which has cute coffee shops, a small water park, breweries, a beautiful waterfall and cute shops. The Shouse is the best of both worlds. The pictures of the property do not do it justice, it is much bigger. The property has everything you need as well as a HUGE tv, internet and even a Keurig machine and dishwasher. Our boys loved the bunk beds, the additional tv in their room and also all the space inside to play board games and move around. The property is very clean and the owners even had sweet treats waiting for us when we arrived. The Shouse is perfect for families, our boys did not want to leave :)

Great space with plenty of room and all the amenities you could ask for. Rain shower and awesome entertainment spaces. Quick 20 minute drive(or less) to a world class brewery(Toppling Goliath) and famous pizza(Mabe’s). Decorah has great coffee shops, restaurants and tap rooms, plus cool unique shops for everyone(clothing, kids toys, pets, gifts etc.). A country oasis with a historic and trendy college town nearby!
