Weekend break
Very well placed but no parking. Reception staff did recommend the train station parking which was fine. Lovely helpful staff and generally a good hotel.

Lovely quality hotel
Lovely quality hotel right in the centre of cardiff. The rooms are a quiet iasis with great shower and comfortable bed and pillows. The breakfast was lovely with a full choice of food. The only problem is the parking. We parked close by in the railway car park at 13.90 for 24 hours. Will definitely use this hotel again

Not good
At first it seemed nice in first sight but we had a few issues first was the tv and phone wasn’t working spoke to the front desk about this nothing resolved from that, we was in the side near the smoking area, so could hear other guests shouting and swearing all night as they had a party, bath robes had stains on them, also drinks where extortionate prices at £18 a cocktail spoke to the guy and the bar about the issues we had and he just laughed it off, not even a offer for a complimentary drink, I couldn’t pay for the drinks as there till went down so had to wait around to pay, for £200 a night wouldn’t stay again sorry
Stained robes
Not the nicest of views

We loved our stay at the hotel, the poor staff were dealing with some technical issues but remained very calm and polite even when the pressure was high.

Disappointing.
Very disappointing. I fully appreciate that the power cut, and the fire alarm is not the fault of the team at the hotel, but the lack of communication, and the attitude of the receptionist on checkout was very poor. No information was forth coming amd you had to keep asking for detail. We did get a note popped under the door later in the day. Was all a too little to late. Expect better drom the Celtic group.

Rip off
Food and service in restaurant was good - main bar is cold and soulless Room service options are very poor - I settled for cold soggy chips and awful garlic mushrooms (inedible) - the cost to use the pool is absolutely outrageous - will be going back to the park plaza from now on, so much better

Emergency to Calm
The Parkgate is my home away from home. Unfortunately, due to the recent storm, we couldn't return home safely. So this was a last-minute emergency stay. Ryan was in front of the house, and as always, he was friendly and caring, and despite it being a very busy weekend, he was able to meet our needs. The day/night wasn't like our usual relaxed stays, but we still enjoyed being in a safe, warm, calm friendly, and beautiful hotel. Thank you and we will see you soon I'm sure.
