I found Eisenach out of a guide book, and this hotel from Hotels.com. It is close enough to everything, but far enough off the main square to be quiet. It's mostly residential, so I'd suggest breakfast AT the hotel (which is great) - there are no quaint coffee/ breakfast places within a couple blocks. The property has many rooms, including meeting rooms (if you need any), and is accustomed to accommodating groups. I was very pleased w the stay, and with my visit to Eisenach.

Great hotel, fantastic breakfast.
This is a very nice hotel in a lovely area. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The hotel is near the centre of town and the historic Wartburg Castle is about 45 minutes away by foot. To the south of the time are good walks in the forested hills and in gorges - the Dragon’s gorge is particularly impressive.

A room with a view
The hotel is 400 meters from the main place. It faces an unfinished or ruined church, a nice view from my room. I have no bad things to say, everything was perfect.

Not a good impression when the first thing you find out is that there's no running water, and the staff omitted to inform you at check-in. In terms of service, the restaurant is excellent, whilst reception is pretty dismal and uncoordinated. The hotel facilities are fair, but nothing impressive.

In town for business
Was in town for a conference. This hotel was perfectly situated and I could easily reach almost anywhere in Eisenach (except the castle!). One issue was that there was a hot spell and no air conditioning in the rooms but otherwise it was great.

Good hotel, but shame about the bill
We had a room on the top floor, with a balcony. Excellent view across to the Wartburg. The single lift was slow as it seemed to deal with floors lower down earlier. Excellent choice at breakfast.Waitresses/ barstaff were efficient. My one major gripe is that despite having paid in advance through Hotels.com..it let me pay in advance. The hotel insisted I pay at the hotel in full, not just extras, despite having received the virtual card number from Expedia with the booking. This has left a sour aftertaste, to what was otherwise a good hotel

Good location, helpful staff
I chose Sophienhotel for the rate and it's somewhat closeness to the train station. It's maybe a 15 minute walk from the station and very close to the town plaza. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and we were able to leave our bags at reception (and received a claim ticket) after we checked out so we could tour and then catch a later train.
