The weather was great for the most part. I did not like the food on the hotel at all. It was very nasty . I did not like that they had no activities for anyone to engage in . The hotel had a raccoon issue . I saw a lot of them daily and they tried to get into my room. My bathroom smelled like sewer my entire stay . I called the front desk on numerous occasions to check my ac that wasn’t working properly, and the fan . And the front desk never sent anyone . I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I know .

Beautiful view, friendly staff ( Alejandra at premium bar was outstanding) food was ok you need more options for restaurants. The hotel is not in a party area if this is what you are looking for do not stay here. Everything is 1 hour away about $40 with Hotel Taxi. Uber is not reliable however still an option and cheaper. The next ATM is 30 minutes away make sure to bring cash for tips. You can book great tours through the hotel however they are pricey. All in all we had a great honeymoon!

The staff were extremely friendly and made the trip a million times better. It’s a bit far from town and places to shop but you have absolutely everything you need at the resort as long as you arnt planning on exploring.

The best thing about Occidental Papagayo was no screaming kids and it had a very relaxed vibe. The staff was awesome and very friendly although in several cases they appeared to be shorthanded (at buffet meals, in the bar, there was no drink service around the pools). The facilities were good, the room was pretty nice. It is a short walk from the pools to the beach. The property is not very accessible for handicapped but there is an onsite shuttle tram that picks guests up and drops them off from their hotel rooms. Be aware that the tile in the room and the tile around the pool is extremely slippery. Wear some grippy sandals! It is unfortunate that in a week we only got to go to 2 a la carte dinners but both of them were excellent.

Room was not clean. bath/shower dirty. No hot and we reported it several times. Staff were friendly but did not respond to complaints. Property was very hilly, difficult for older people and people that had trouble moving about. Transportation was provided but you had to wait. Food in buffet was limited and the food was terrible. No bacon for breakfast. Specialty Restaurant Oriental was horrible don't waste your time. Very limited beverages were supplied. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PROPERTY.
