Short trip to Ansterdam
The checking was easy, they allowed us to check in early and gave my son a Lego set! The bed was so comfy! Right next to a main street so a bit noisy outside, sirens passing by, but an easy walk to the train station. Bathroom is tiny and the bathroom door was sort of see thru (like frosted glass), which was different as traveling with my 11 year old. Overall, would definitely stay again

In general we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. The service was nice and the breakfast buffet was a highlight. However, the space in the room and the bath was a bit limited to store all our things.

Disappointing
Room was tired and small with oddly placed power sockets. The room was very warm, the air conditioning didn't really work and was so noisy that it wasn't helpful for getting sleep. The safe in our room didn't work either. The hotel was quite noisy in general. Reception was left unmanned at times and our card wouldn't allow access to the reception so we had yo stand outside buzzing the intercom until someone let us in. Reception staff were scruffy with unironed shirts. For the price point is was just about passable but we were not impressed

I would highly recommend this lovely hotel.
My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bastion Hotel. We were looking for somewhere not far from Amsterdam Centraal but with our own privacy. It was a great alternative to hostels in central area, both location and money wise. Being able to drink our morning coffees was great with the coffee machine and pods provided. We loved how close it was to Vondel Park. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and tidy and we were offered a daily housekeeping service, although we did not need it.

We appreciated the staffs help and do recommend it for people who definitely visit Amsterdam and spend all day out. Cleanliness was satisfactory and if it wasnt for the one mug found dirty in the room when we checked in I would give it a 5 star.

You pay for water 5 euro, website shows parking free as Bastion Hotel Slogan everywhere but they say in this hotel its 15 euro a day, free at other Bastions. Rooms are not premium, no slippers.. location was ok.
