Disappointing
Room was OK, basic but great location. Not entirely sure my room was properly turned over though. Genuinely noticed so many hairs in the bed, but after a long day travelling I just couldn’t be bothered complaining. Frustrating as the bed was actually very comfy. Would’ve said something at checkout but the poor guy at the desk was dealing with a massive queue of checkins and I’m not that kind of person. Such a shame, probably wouldn’t stay again as there are so many great competitor hotels at similar prices.

Great stay
Great location and amenities. Excellent breakfast and lots of variety in offerings. The only drawback (at least for our room) is that the shower was tiny and my husband is over 6 feet tall (1.83 meters). Bring a power strip as plugs are scarce for all your devices.

Location is within a few blocks from main shopping and tourist restaurants. Hotel is older , rooms. Are very small and a queen bed is 2 single beds together but no queen sheet. Thought I was sleeping on the mattress cover as it was not a sheet and very scratchy. Service was good, breakfast buffet was excellent. Bathrooms are very small and dated, wait 5 min for hot water to arrive but then good and hot. No separate shower, just a curtain so entire bathroom floor was wet after shower. You get what you pay for but considered it pricy for what you got.

Parking was a nightmare
Parking was a nightmare. Online it said it was easy. Ha. There was no space in the free lot. Then two staff, who were very nice and trying to help, kept telling me where the parking garage is but we couldn't find it Every time we had to come back and ask. They didn't have a name of it or GPS coordinate so I ended up parking at a meter. The location is excellent. We walked to the city and had a great time. If you don't have a car, it's probably a good place to stay

"The hotel is a little outside the main shopping street, but it is on the same block (like: a 1 minute walk) from two of the best restaurants in Reykjavik: Reykjavik Kitchen, and Skal, which is inside Hlemmur Food Hall (do not be put off by the food hall-the food there is all really really good, and finding a seat was never an issue )."
