Disappointed
We didn’t end up staying we checked out due firstly to the odour that emanated through the hotel from permanent residence living in the hotel. The room itself was unkempt bathroom was grott, toilet seat coming off and cupboards falling apart. dirty floor. Beds were dishevelled. TV was on in room like someone had been staying in the room in vacated just as we arrived. In the room for a period of approximately 15 minutes before leaving hotel. Very disappointing to arrive to the state that it was.

It was dirty Pubic hair and stains all over the beds We complained and were moved rooms It was better but still Dirty and big Pubic hair on the hand towel in the bathroom I have complained directly to the hotel and given them a chance to respond before placing a public review They have not bothered to respond I would like to give others a heads up before booking I don’t know if it’s their “Expedia allocated rooms” or what But for over $200 a night I expect a basic standard of cleanliness Disgusted actually dirtiest place I’ve stayed in all my travels around the world

Extraordinary seaside gem in the city
The Spencer is my dream home away-from-home. The staff are so welcoming & attend to every request or question with a smile. The rooms are large, full of light with the most fabulous views across to Rangitoto and beyond. The hotel is immaculately clean, offers a large gym & pool. I will return and can’t recommend it more.
