I highly recommend this hotel. Lovely atmosphere on a wonderful beach. Tourist areas are quite close by for those that want that, but it is just on the outer edge of the main tourist area, which appeals to us. A 15 minute tram ride to the city center and the train station, so a very easy commute to explore downtown as well.

A great hotel in a perfect location. The staff is helpful and friendly. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The hotel is located in Scheveningen overlooking the beach and the North Sea. The tram and bus to take you into the city center are conveniently located right on the corner ,1 block away. The Scheveningen promenade is right at the hotel doorstep. Lots of great restaurants are within walking distance.

Carlton beach

All the family rooms are on the 1st floor with no view of the ocean. Bunk beds have been nicely fitted out but it’s a shame they cannot offer a sea view to family’s. Our view was of a tram stop with trams stopping every 5 minutes so it wasn’t very pleasant and not what we had in mind (or anyone ) when booking a beach hotel. The hotel is not cheap so I feel this should be made clear at booking it feels like if travelling as a family you are relegated to the back of the hotel. Breakfast was nice, fresh made waffles, bacon and eggs with a nice view. Swimming pool was fine, extra charges to use the sauna though which I thought is poor form. Great location near the beach and lots of restaurants and things to do.

Buchungsmissverständnisse wurden bei Ankunft sofort beseitigt. Es sind noch nicht alle Bereiche renoviert, der Balkon war total unansehlich ,aber das Zimmer und das Bad waren renoviert. Im Bad keine Ablagefläche ,aber schon designed. Das Frühstück hat eine sehr gute Qualität, aber der Kafeeautomat steht falsch, alle Leute stellen sich am Buffetbereich an, niemand kommt mehr an das Brot und die Käse/Wurstplatten

gelungener Umbau

Die Buchung per Email/Website war eine Katastrophe. Der kompetente Mann an der Rezeption hat beim Einchecken alle Probleme gelöst und war sehr freundlich. Wir hatten die Zimmer mit direktem Meerblick. Die Neueröffnung des Hotels war am 01.05.2025, erst wurde der Check-in noch über einen Hintereingang an der Rezeption des Sportbereiches gemacht später hatten sie es aber geschafft die neue Rezeption zu eröffnen. Der Umbau ist absolut gelungen. Sehr stimmige Farben. Im Frühstücksbereich stehen die Kaffeeautomaten völlig falsch, die Reihe der Gäste, die Kaffee wollen steht mitten im Buffetbereich , es kommt niemand mehr an Wurst/Käse oder Brot, sehr chaotisch und anstrengend für die Gäste. Die Qualität der Frühstückswaren ist überragend gut. Es gibt eine Station für frische Spiegeleier und frisches Rührei und Pancakes. Die Balkone sind noch extrem renovierungsbedürftig , ich vermute aber, dass die Arbeiten noch nicht abgeschlossen sind und dies geschehen wird. Es gibt kaum Ablagefläche im Badezimmer. Man sollte immer im nahegelegenen Parkhaus Boulevard einen Parkplatz buchen (das geht problemlos im Voraus auf der Website des Parkhauses), das Hotel bietet nichts an Fläche an.
