A Gem!
Priced about the same as "budget" hotels, the Read House is a much better experience. Our room was large, clean, and beautiful. Staff were all friendly and helpful. This was our second stay and we hope to return soon!

8/10 Very Good

All the staff members I encountered were helpful and friendly. Not sure if due to room being booked through third party or not but our room was at the very end of hall. Very loud in the hall at all hours. Tub was dirty and didn't drain well at all. The chair in the room was very hard and uncomfortable, we couldn't even sit in it and the cushion on the chair obviously didn't match it. The hotel itself-lobby area, sitting areas-was beautiful.

6/10 Good

This is the second stay at the Reed house for us. This visit I accidentally got us a room on the Manor side of the hotel. It was not very nice at all. The other side of the hotel is much better. I was disappointed. Next time I will book my stay directly through the hotel website so I know exactly what I am getting.

The place was nice.. BUT.... there is public parking across from the hotel. I started to park there and questioned the front desk about it. It was advised I should use there valer parking as the public parking resets at 6 am. The thing the don't tell you is that valet parking is a 25 dollar charge to you. I felt duped/lied too... For that I would not advise this as a place to stay... dishonesty don't go far with me....

Beautiful hotel
Beautiful hotel. Elegant and well-maintained. We enjoyed the walking through the various areas on the 1st and 2nd floor (library, bar, meeting rooms, silver ballroom, etc) with all of their chandeliers and 1920-1930s touches. Stayed here for our anniversary, including dinner at the Bridgeman's Chophouse (excellent food and service, very pricey). Our room had a comfy king size bed and tub which is what I appreciate. The room itself was basic. The bathroom was overly large since it was an accessible room but enjoyed the tub as I mentioned above.
