i have traveled to italy several times and have stayed at this hotel in the past. the hotel has been renovated to a very good quality. my on line request specifically stated i was looking for a bay from view. upon arrival, i once again specificed that i would have a bay front view. although reserved, i was told that one can not be garanteed such a request. and that if i did want a bay front there would be an additional cost, Welcome to naples, where not only is the street hussle a scam and the taxis dont even charge you what the meter states, now the hotels seem to play the same game?

We absolutely loved our stay at Lido Mediterranee. The staff are attentive and professional, and the hotel Is managed well and efficiently. Outside terrace is beautiful and I love the vintage vibe of the rest of the amenities. Beautiful sea views too.

The hotel is outdated, the drain in the room shower is clogged and I've got a nail fungus. The hotel is full of moskitos and I ddin't sleep all nights. The breakfast was very poor for 4-stars hotel. Great beachfront retreat. See and listen to the sea from most rooms. Incredibly solicitous staff at the front desk, in dining area and on the beach. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable. Very good value in expensive Taormina area. When we stayed in Mid October the beach and balcony area was shaded because of the cliffs behind- which must apply to many beachfront properties in the area. So plan on doing swimming and sunbathing before 2 or 3pm. The property is almost a kilometer walk to the cable car that goes up to central Taormina along a beautiful but dangerous road with no sidewalk. This distance provides some relief from the crowds in many parts of Taormina
