I wasn't wowed by this hotel or the dining choices but the staff was lovely, the food was good and the view from my terrace room was beautiful. the resort can use a little refresh as the furniture was a little worn and the decor a little tired. I was surprised that the mini bar remained unfilled the whole time I was there as I thought the terrace rooms included a stocked mini bar. I guess I could have complained but I just kept on thinking they would get to it. I will know better for next time.

Park Royal is better
When we arrived the entrance hall looked very impressive but unfortunately that’s where it stops! The room is dated and has chipped paint mold and marks everywhere especially in the bathroom and headboard of bed. We then went down to the pool and the pool is not very pleasant, there is building work next door so there is a black tarp blocking it and they are doing maintenance to there bridge to the beach so you can hear that constantly! The pool was dirty and the bean bags and cushioned chairs are damp through stained and old! The kids pool (which is what initially drew us in) has sand on the bottom of it which I don’t understand why and when my daughter went down the slides she hurt her bottom as a result! Though admittedly it didn’t stop her from playing it did put her off wanting to stay for a long time! In fact on our last day we went to a different hotel for a day pass to use there facilities as we really didn’t want to use the double tree facilities. The one redeeming factor for the hotel was the breakfast which was very pleasant and varied if a little cold. Other issues we had was the extreme prices at the bar. 4 drinks for 166RM was extreme for the area. Additionally we asked them to get us a taxi and were quoted 60RM which we declined as the grab app was showing 23RM! And took only 5 mins to arrive Also our lights stopped working completely, there was quality issues with grouting in the bathroom and the air conditioning stopped workin also. Very disappointing!

Great to have a balcony. Nice to have a beach across the way. The restaurant makes a nice breakfast. Had a steak sandwich with chips that was also quite good. You can take the bus in to town. May be a bit tricky to get a grab ...depending on time of day. I would stay again for sure.

The premise is nicely situated in Batu Ferringhi. The staff is very friendly and the hotel vibe is also very good. The lobby in particular is very nicely designed. The stay was also very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The breakfast quality is fair, but can be improved a little more.

There is a small beach right across the road (the hotel has a private footbridge providing easy access) but nothing else within walking distance - the road is very busy with no sidewalks.

Service was good, had a couple of staff who seem to have encountered many demanding guests before so their response to us was as though we had already asked many times when we were just asking the first time. But other staff were fabulous! We had issues with the door lock (had to reset a few times) and the safe was not working. However it was resolved quickly so not big an issue. They are busy in the morning so not the best time to call for help in the morning.
