Newer Shaney property very nice
Very new hotel. Lovely staff. Rooms are the best part although I wish the bed had room on both sides to get out (large room with sitting area and fridge!). Breakfast wasn’t very exciting but typical of Japan hotel to try to do everything not so well. But lovely staff and very clean and organized. Spa on top floor was lovely. I looked in but didn’t use it. Very convenient to buses and trams and at the doorstep of China town which is like literally one block. Overall it was nice property and worth staying away from the main train station. Nagasaki wasn’t my favorite city to visit but interesting for sure. Cold weather in January didn’t help of course.

Candeo Can Do!!
Candeo was clean, staff and services were great and super comfortable. Great location adjacent to Chinatown, not too far from Nagasaki train station. Sauna and Onsen-like heated pools on the roof were perfect for starting and/or ending your day. The price was insane! I would have expected to pay much more for the quality.

Location, amenities and services were excellent! We loved spa especially. It was very close to the tram station and Chiba town which were very convenient. 1 thing we were surprisingly disappointed was that there were no drawers and real closet. Our room was not that big so it was struggle to open the suitcases to take out or put in our clothes everyday. Bed was firm and very comfortable. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Great location. Walking distance to the tram and the Main Street. Parking is a bit confusing, need to use the parking lot next to the hotel, not at the hotel building. Then ask the front desk for a discounted parking tickets for the specific parking lot. Little bit complicated.

The Candeo Hotel in China Town Nagasaki was one of the best hotel experiences my husband and I ever had. The hotel is clean and was so quiet, I thought we were the only guests there, but in fact there were so many! I know because evening when we returned to our hotel room, there would be a silk bag filled with new towels, silk pajamas and house slippers, and fresh bottles of water hanging on the door knobs of all the checked-in guests on our floor...and there were many many bags, but the rooms are so quiet, you would never have known! The front guest staff are so kind and helpful and polite, assisting with the tiniest of requests with the most attentive warm care and concern. One of the front desk angels asked if we wanted her to call us a taxi to take us to the airport, which she did. But when the taxi arrived and seemed to go pass the hotel entrance, the hotel staff ran out of the hotel in her uniform and high heels to chase down the taxi for us!! She apologized for the taxi, smiled, bowed many times to us and thanked us for our patience and understanding!! These people are the sweetest, kindest, most respectful hotel staff you will ever meet! Do yourselves a favor and book your stay at the Candeo. You will not regret any part of your decision, and it will add so much peace, pampering, and enjoyment to your trip! Thank you, Candeo angels for the best hotel experience of our lives! Much aloha, Mark & Rochelle Alo - Maui, Hawaii

The Candeo Hotel is the best option if you want to stay near the Chinatown area of Nagasaki. The bus stop is about 3-4 min from the hotel, and you can easily move to other city points. The staff was kind and helped us during the check-in process. The room was really nice and comfortable, suitable for a three-person group. It might be crowded if you are traveling with huge luggage. The hot spring was really cool and had an excellent sauna. However, there were few lockers available.

2/10 Poor

Racism at Candeo towards Americans! If you are American or look like you could be, it would be in your best interest to stop and read this review. I am a platinum member with Expedia and this is the first time in 20 years that I have written a bad review. I booked a hotel room for over a week at this hotel. The OWNER, at least she claimed she was, showed an obvious and deliberate prejudice towards me when all I asked was to please ask the neighbors to not yell at 1am in the morning. For 4 nights I went up and spoke to her, and for four nights she laughed and handed me the phone number to the police, the proceeded to ignore me. When I cancelled the rest of my nights at the hotel and lost my money, she smiled and watched while I left. Insult to injury! I contacted Candeo corporate offices via email 5 times, in hopes for some understanding to what took place at this one hotel and this lady calling herself the OWNER. It’s been 2 weeks and nobody had replied back. Because they did not reply back, I am assuming that they were okay with her treatment of foreigners that were not Asian. Racism should not be experienced ever, I hope that this spares future travelers the experience I had.

Great stay in Nagasaki
We absolutely loved everything about our stay here. The room was very large for Japan. It was very comfortable and we loved the extra sofa seating area. The location is great; so much more fun than staying near the train station. Outdoor spa was fabulous!

The only bad point was that it advertises 4 people max per room. Ot is not truth. It only fits comfortably 3. The last bed next to the window which leaks so it is cold to sleep there. I have 2 horrible sleep nights. My two children and wife in the king size bed. No space there for me nor in the floor. They are small rooms.
