I was very disappointed in the suite. Everything was so old and out dated. AC units were so loud as were the bathroom fans. The suite we got was not what was shown on Hitels. Com when I booked. TV’s are super small. Was not what I expected.

The condo we rented was in a delapidated building with creaky almost rotten floor boards in the entrance… multiple level building no ADA entrance. When we finally made it into the room we immediately noticed it was roach infested. Roaches everywhere!!!! It was a nightmare. We checked out soon after and all they said was sorry. They tried accommodating but you can pretty much assume that if one unit is infested so is the entire building!! Oh and not to mention they tried selling us a tour to buy time shares. Will never set foot in this place. Dont be fooled by the ratings.

We arrive checked in and went back to the room to unload. Room had a funny smell and very outdated look like it was from the 80s. Very big and spacious. Came back to the room after dinner started unpacking then started to see baby German roaches and they was everywhere. I went to the front desk the staff and manager was very nice about it and moved us to another loaction no questions asked. The next place we got was very nice and updated. Very pleased with how they handled the situation.

Mass-a-nutten but terrible!
My family and I drove 13 hours from Florida. We thought Massanutten would be a nice place for our family. We were traveling with 5 kids. Four of the kids are 9 and under. Hotels.com stated that the water park was included. When we arrived we were basically called liars by the manager, Tyler Texeire, and he claimed they have no control over what hotels.com advertises. He had zero customer service skills. He kept saying he would help us out but had no intention of helping in any way. When we reached our “villa”, we were assaulted with a smell like the rooms hadn’t been opened in years. We then found a broken lock, broken drawers, disgusting looking towels, and mold in the air vent. We immediately looked for new accommodations elsewhere and left. Do yourself a favor and DON’T stay here. Just gross and the management is rude. Even the waitress and a restaurant down the street said the place had gone downhill!

People on the resort were outstanding!!! It’s isolated, so bring everything you need (except one roll of toilet paper). Be prepared to drive 30 minutes to get everything else you need. A couple little markets on the resort have some basics with “healthy markups.” The condo I had was lacking - poor lighting throughout, peculiar long narrow bathroom (rooms for water heater and the such in entrance, light switch across the room (not at entrance) made night time tough, small shower with cheap shower head, plastic curtain), lousy TV.

This was horrible… the check in process wasn’t too unpleasant except u had to go to multiple different counters just before you could leave all so they could sell you stuff which was annoying. They switched our room four times because they kept putting us in the nastiest rooms first to see if we would just settle with those rooms. One room the ceiling was leaking and had mold in it. Another condo there were cracks and holes in the tub. We finally begged them to put us in an updated room after they said they had nothing available that they were completely booked but when they put us in a more newly renovated room all the other condos around us were empty so of course that was a lie. We had three kids with us and it was almost midnight and I felt like that alone some empathy should have been shed on the situation. It honestly was not worth the trip me and my family took to go here there are better places to go if u want to experience the mountains 🏔️ and do some water activities.

After we finished the check-in, they bombarded us with free offers from the resort. We repeatedly asked them if there was any reciprocation to these offers, and will we lose money, but they said no it's completely optional. So we decided to choose the tour offer where we would need to tour the property for two hours and in return they would give us a deposit and they said it's optional. Next morning they called us to schedule the tour and I said we couldn't do the tour because of a time shortage. The receptionist replied in a hurried way that I would lose the 50$ deposit. I was shell-shocked as they never explained to me I would lose anything and they mentioned it was optional. During checkout, I reached out to them and they showed me the asterisk in the offer card that if I failed to do the tour the deposit would be lost. Most people won't bother to read all the bullet points and the asterisks in the contract when they are just tired and ready to go to the room, so they ask questions like we did to make sure there's no catch. However, they never mentioned the catch. I just think they could have been more professional. it is unacceptable that they can go that low to get people.

4/10 Fair

Overall stay was good and we'd go back to another property type. The Shenandoah Villa unit we stayed in had a broken gas fireplace (which they fixed an hour before checkout). The large whirlpool tub was a disappointment. A centipede came out when the jets were started and after running it, there was foul smell that rendered the tub unusable. The smell was so bad!
