I recently returned to Hyatt Place for the first time since 2018, and while the hotel remains nice, I was surprised by some of the changes that have taken place in the industry since my last visit in 2018. I had a wonderful stay with daily housekeeping that kept my room fresh and comfortable throughout my visit. This time around, however, I noticed that daily cleaning was no longer the norm, and I was informed about this change during check-in. As someone who hasn’t traveled much in recent years, I was disappointed to learn that daily housekeeping now has to be requested, rather than being an included service.I understand that many hotels have adjusted their practices due to the pandemic and in pursuit of sustainability, but for me, this new approach made my stay feel more like an Airbnb experience than a traditional hotel stay. I missed the comfort of returning to a freshly cleaned room each day, which I always thought was included with the hotel room.Despite this, the hotel itself was still as comfortable and welcoming as I remembered. But if you’re someone who prefers daily room cleaning, I would recommend asking the front desk at check-in to ensure you receive it during your stay.
