Horrible evening
Hot. Room was. Hot. No a/c. Should’ve been disclosed when booking it. They brought me a fan. Uhm! Windows don’t open. Had to sleep with hallway door open. Safe? To cool off the room Stayed there lots and get treated like this! When asked the next day. It was sorry. You booked through hotels. Nothing we can do!

Disappointing 😞
I have stayed at the parktown a few times before but this time was very disappointing. From the elevators not working at check in and i had to haul my suitcase up 6 floors. Alarms going off when i checked in. And the AC not working in my room. It was 25 degrees in the room and all they could tell me is that they have a one boiler system and offered me a fan. To which it never arrived. I did speak with front desk several times. Didn't get much sleep that night

For the price of last nights stay. I could’ve stayed at the James for the same price! And had air conditioning! I’d like a refund!

Basic
No microwave. Fridge had tray full of water, soaking my food. Vending machine on floor did not work. Didn’t replenish tea for second day. I don’t drink coffee. No continental breakfast as you have a restaurant. Discount coupons for meals and spare key/pass card were removed from room, I presume after housekeeping went through so I didn’t have a chance to use for second day. Room was reserved for three but only two sets of towels in room. Luckily didn’t need that many after all. Room had a musty smell. Was given room right in front of elevators so could hear people talking by elevators and carts banging in and out. Didn’t seem to have a lot of other guests on floor fortunately so wondered why I rated probably the noisiest possible room on the floor? Also not a lot of charging outlets. Just one terminal on desk, none by bedside. Stay was comfortable enough but pretty basic. Guess I expected better.

It was a very convenient location for appointments. The hotel was in the midst of a renovation, it was dated decor, but clean. The staff was exceptionally, very professional, kind and prompt when dealing with our room concerns.

NOT HAPPY
Construction going on and elevator service was limited, supposed to be between 10 am and 6 pm, but noise was happening above us Sunday around 8 am and Monday by 9 am. We find the toilet height to be too low for seniors. And, my wife caught her arm on the door catch on the bathroom door frame which cut her arm, in room 406, it sticks out about an inch too far. The hotel discounted the parking costs for the inconvenience, but I wonder if the problems have been addressed.
