Good location, nice views but room is noisy.
Helpful staff, nice view, good location. But the walls between rooms are too thin, we hear neighbouring room chatting all night long.

A below average stay
Check in was easy. I had emailed prior to try and book parking, but was not given a response to this apart from what the cost was. It was hard to understand the lady on reception. We thought the position would have had a better outlook, though it was closeish to the city centre. We had no view, except of the building site next door.

Friendly & Great Location
Kingsgate Hotel had friendly staff and fantastic location across the road from the Town Hall and close to the Octogan. Our room was spacious for the 3 of us and clean, however very tired and old decor. Breakfast was OK and appreciated they had gluten free options. Parking at $15 a night was pricey but plenty of parking on the street. A refurb/update would make this an awesome hotel!

Okay, could have been better
Staff were great, location a bit weird in that we drove passed the hotel, then had to double back. The room was badly laid out, furniture really heavy to move and there was no fixed lights, all free standing. Lift was old and clunky

Walking distance to everything!
Walking distance from everything. Great restaurants nearby. Hotel had an awesome breakfast with lots of options - food and staff were great! Parking spaces were tight and even though we paid in advance for parking, space was limited and other guests parked there so when we returned, there was no spaces left for us to park. Hotel reception did find an acceptable accommodation for our van though, so it all worked out.

Value for the money.
Parking very difficult to access with a big vehicle. Breakfast was good. Juan did an excellent job always busy and friendly. While a young girl with long straight black hair was chewing gum not a job look and im sure not company standard. Especially being part of a chain.

Well placed hotel, walking distance from the main high street and octagon. 5th floor suite rather tired in decor with wallpaper coming away from ceiling. Excellent staff, very welcoming and friendly. Parking is chargeable. Breakfast buffet somewhat limited in selection, but quality was ok.

2/10 Poor

When we stayed there was a broken water pipe, we were not told about it when we checked in even though they obviously knew about it with all the towels on the floor in reception. This meant no water in our rooms to wash or shower with. There was no wifi and we had to hear generators and air dryers most of the night. When we checked out reception never apologised for the inconvenience or offered compensation

The view was good. Closeness to the City. The Breakfast was good. Was worried the bed didn't have an electric blanket but found a warmer blanket in wardrobe but surprised that there was only two hangers.
