The booking I've made through Expedia was not honored. We were told the very day at the front desk that there was no room available and that was due to Expedia system failure. We were expelled and had to find another hotel in a neighboring town 30 minutes away by car, as all other hotels around were full.
Contacted immediately Expedia, but Expedia chat said that the booking cannot be cancelled as the "stay has already been engaged" and that the refund shall be dealt with the property. The property says I have to cancel with Expedia first. The phone call with Expedia agent that followed the chat was interrupted unilaterally as the agent"didn't hear me"!
The situation is outrageous. Expedia has confirmed me the booking was made and retrieved money from my card. Expedia should refund me, as it didn't live up to what they promised, and then, ask the property to refund it.
I urge Expedia to take immediate action along this line.
