Pros and Cons
My room was pretty clean, good size just for me for 3 nights, and the bed was comfy, however, it was starting to look run down with fraying curtains and peeling wallpaper. Also, the shower was REALLY tiny. The elevator was out of order, it's supposedly being updated, but the gentleman at the front desk kindly helped carry my suitcase up and down the stairs. No elevator kind of sucked though after a long day of walking around, those 3 flights felt like 30 LOL. The location of this hotel was amazing, really close to many sites, places to eat, shopping and the bus stop is literally at the hotel's main entrance, which I used to go to the zoo and to the airport.

Rooms are very small and tatty furniture. Lift was out of service (multiple days not just temp issue) but staff didn't offer help with large rucksack despite room being on the 4th floor. No power socket near bed for phone to charge Only single and secondary glazing so I was woken by the trams and their bell from 5am

It is a good location meat the castle and x the train to the airport. The room was comfortable. The only problem was the elevator was out on the day we left and we didn't have enough time to take advantage of their offer to help.

Great Value for you Money
Three of us stayed on a split visit of one night and then three nights. The rooms were comfortable with our only complaint being some black mold in the shower in an otherwise spotless rooms. The rooms were not super fancy or overly large but provided what was needed as a base for our visit to Edinburgh at a very good value. The hotel is located in good walking proximity to restaurants, bars, shops and local transport including a hop on-hop off stop. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the bus station, train station, old town, Dean village so overall, a great value for those looking to visit Edinburgh without the high pocket expense of some hotels.

The location can’t be beat, our window looked out onto a major street and it was still not nearly as loud as I expected. Occasionally you would hear the Tram or cars but not too bad. The facilities were worn the bathroom had seen better days. The room was one of the larger ones and it accommodated 2 carryon and backpacks easily. We didn’t spend a whole lot of time at the place as it was more for going about and exploring. We were able to store our baggage after checkout which was greatly appreciated to explore the city. For the price it would’ve been nicer to have cleaner bathrooms and the pillows were a little flat but it worked for the 2 nights we were there.

Wonderful staff, horrible rooms
The staff was wonderful at this venue, very friendly and professional but the whole experience got completely ruined by the cleanliness of the venue. Overall it feels incredible rundown and the rooms feels dirty with stains everywhere, towels with mascara stains on, dirty drinking cups and hairs around the room etc. As much as this is a “cheaper” option for accommodation, you do pay a lot of money for an experience that does leave a bad taste in your mouth.

A hotel located in a great location.
This hotel is located in a great location to see the sites of Edinburgh without the need of a taxi/bus. Our room was located right next to the elevator and was noisy at times. The room lack a luggage rack which made getting in/out of our luggage somewhat of a pain. Otherwise, not bad. Staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Would stay here again.
