Villa Limon is a fine choice. A tastefully decorated boutique, Limon is "fun sized" at just seven rooms. As others have noted, this translates to attentive service and a great guest experience.
Our room was true to the photos, very inviting, with large windows (that open), extremely comfortable bed and bedding, large bath with modern shower, looking out over the lovely courtyard (where we were lucky to observe a local wedding prenuptual party--which ended promptly at 10 when the restaurant closed). Rooms are large and very interesting in their configurations and decor, it felt much like a European boutique.
Be aware that our room, Limonella, is accessible only via two flights of stairs. It appears all other rooms are accessible by elevator. Not a problem for us, but so you know.
The staff, while not fluent in English, are all very kind and patient with guests who struggle with Spanish. We had no real communication problems. The young front desk attendant even provided us some smaller bills for tipping from her own purse. These people want you to have a pleasant stay, and it shows.
Breakfast at the lovely rooftop restaurant, Zuma, is a real treat. Not a lot of variety in the offering (we stayed a week), but it's quite good, fresh and well-prepared as others have noted. Service from Carla and Rebecca was consistently gracious, outstanding. With fresh fruit, fresh squeezed juice, and great eggs prepared your way, you will be ready for the long walking day.
Excellent!
