Upon arrival everything seemed great. The room was very tidy. The employees were very helpful. When we took the kids to the pool, the waterfall immediately stopped working which was one of the many reasons we chose this hotel. My autistic daughter loves this feature. When it stopped, it was total melt down time. We chose just to leave instead of deal with the embarrassment. Once we finally got everything settled down, it was bed time. That is when we noticed the air conditioner was not working properly. Instead of making a fuss about it, we chose to rough it out. Big mistake. My husband and I got next to no sleep due to being to hot and basically sticking to the bed all night. Based on these events, we will not be back to doubletree.

The customer service at check in was the worst I have ever seen at a Hilton. The gentleman that checked us in acted like it was a pain for him to do his job. I told him I was a Hilton Honors member and they hadn’t asked that online when I made my reservation. He sighed and asked if I had my number. He did not tell us Wi-Fi password on check in. Other guests were offered snacks at check in. We were not. My grandson was interested in Italian food for dinner. I asked the gentlemen if he could recommend some where that would be good to eat. He said, “Not really. There are too many restaurants in this town and none of them are good. So just pick a place to eat. He said there was a restaurant named Bruno’s downtown that was overpriced and not really good. When we got to the room it had a stale musty smell to it. We were only given two towels. We had three people on reservation and had to call down for more. We dropped something on the floor that rolled under bed. When we retrieved it there was all kinds of trash under bed one being a used mask. We had never been to Springfield before and were there to go to the Landers Theater. I picked this hotel because it was close to theater. There are other hotels close too so not sure if I would stay here again.

Location is excellent; right off the main interstate with plenty of restaurants nearby & also a Walmart across the street. Security is excellent. The hotel has 10 floors with the first floor being lobby & amenities. Access to the rooms is by elevator or stair well, which require your room key to operate or access. The elevators are fast & responsive. The restaurant for lunch and dinner, with bar, is nice with good food and choices. The lobby affords plenty of room, tables, and seating for working and meeting non-guests. The rooms are clean and quiet. The towels are nice being of ample size (bath sheets). Unfortunately, it goes down from here. They claim to have mattress 'toppers', NOT. There is only a thin, quilted mattress cover, and the mattress is hard. The pillows are squishy, offering very little support. I did not sleep well at all. Also, there was no refrigerator or microwave in my room. At this price point, a refrigerator, at least, should be provided and expected. Their breakfast cafe had the potential to be very nice but, unfortunately again, they missed the mark. Their so called 'chef' didn't know how to fry an egg. I ordered two eggs over medium. He brought me one cooked correctly & one with the yolk solid all the way through, so I asked for them to be redone. He made me wait for the second set, presumably because he was ticked that I dare ask for a re-do. The second set had correctly cooked yolks but the whites were brown &crusty all over.

Great check in! Place was very clean. Very secure building. You needed your room card to use the elevator. On site restaurant was a great convenience.

We only stayed one night but it was a great stay. Every time we come to Springfield we stay at the Doubletree. The price is fair. The rooms are clean and the staff us always very polite
