The bed was horrible. You can feel the springs press into your back. If this place had a bed I’d be more inclined to review it positively. Breakfast was ok. Location is great as your are right there in Baku. But the bed….wouldn’t recommend it

Do not recommend for anyone
Utterly disappointed with the place and wouldnt recommend anyone. Rooms are not at all the way shown in the pictures and also it was very dirty and disgusting. A/C control is central for one floor and they others kept turning it off all the time and 3rd day of stay no a/c at all as someone had broken the control.
very unclean bathroom

Affordable room in a great location
I chose this hotel based on the affordable price and central location. And in that respect, it didn't disappoint. My room was a decent size but the bed was not comfortable at all. Also the walls are thin so if you have a few loud old men next door like I did, you'll need earplugs. My room had some other issues like no hot water for the first day, and wifi not working. But both times I went to front desk to complain and both times the problem was fixed pretty quickly so the staff are pretty responsive. There is a nice patio courtyard to hang out too, but the main benefits are the price and the great location

I recommend not staying in this hotel. They will not accept credit cards. They demand cash up front for your entire stay. If you don’t have the money available they’ll direct you to an ATM no matter the time of night. The hotel has seen its better days. Even though we had a “deluxe“ room the drapes were half off the rods and difficult to close. There was always water on floor around the toilet and the bathroom smelled like sewer. Hotel managements solution was to provide a can of air freshener. When we came to breakfast they insisted it was not included. I had to show them my reservation paper that said that it was included. Another guest said they did the same thing to him.

2/10 Poor

Avoid, not worth the low price at all.
This was the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed at. They originally wanted me to cancel my hotels.com reservation (presumably to save their commission) and pay in cash. After checking in, I came to realize the room had no window, and limited airflow. In addition to no hot water, it also seems to run out of water entirely some days. After trying to sleep the first night, the mattress would have been in better condition if it was pulled out of the dumpster. The springs were pushing through and it was too uncomfortable to sleep on without using the top sheet folded over for additional cushion. The TV was smashed, chair was broken, filth everywhere, and used condoms under the bed. For a week plus stay, house keeping didn't come by even once. While it is a good location, it is certainly not worth the discount price. You are much better off going with any other option. Internet worked okay, literally the only perk

Way beyond my expectations
I am so glad I booked this hotel. The best thing about this small, comfortable boutique hotel was the hospitality of the employees and manager. They were so nice and friendly, and always asked about my day. Definitely one of the highlights of my stay was the interactions I had with these awesome people. As a solo female traveller, I also felt very comfortable and safe the whole time. I would stay here again, hands down. I would recommend this hotel to anyone - I was very lucky to have found it.

I liked its central location being close to Fountain square and the race track. The property is old but is quaint and quirky. I organised an early checking and we were given an alternative room until ours was ready

Its a good hotel. Friendly and helping staff. I hardly had any complaints. The equality of service, they provide, speaks of the hard work and dedication of the staff working there. The owner of the hotel himself is a very helping and cooperative person who keenly takes care of routine matters in the hotel and makes every effort the ensure a comfortable stay for the customers. And also the Marketing Manager was very helping and professional. Would like to stay in this hotel again whenever I get a chance to visit Baku.

I was lucky enough to find Rizwan. He is the best man to travel you around with his tremendous knowledge as well as communication skills. The owner and staff of Shalimar Boutique are also very elegant hosts. The best place to stay in Baku either with family, friends or solo. Very strongly recommended. It's the best value you get for your money.

No no no
Fantastic location but ugly conditions. No water to take a shower, leaky towels, no toilet paper, no elevator, sometimes unpleasant smell in a bathroom. Several times I couldn't clean teeth and went in a city as it is. So every night I argued with receptionist about water problems being in foam when water suddenly dissapeared... Not recommended!!! The place is really outstanding;)
