The Kohl Children’s Museum focuses on the importance of play for childhood development in its hands-on learning laboratories. With its 17 permanent exhibits, children will interact with a variety of displays that encourage curiosity, exploration, and their imaginations. All programming and displays are research-based to encourage children to explore educational and learning opportunities through curiosity and play.

Parents are encouraged to assist their children in participating in activities that promote learning while playing at any of the exhibits. Specially trained staff use early childhood education practices to develop the play experiences to meet the Illinois Learning Standards.
