Disney’s Hollywood Studios® is a major theme park at the vast Walt Disney World® in Orlando, drawing in millions of visitors every year with its range of shows, rides, and attractions. Inspired by Disney’s 1930s and 1940s films, the huge site spans 135 acres of southwest Orlando, making up a quarter of the wider Walt Disney World® complex, which includes the other theme parks of Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Animal Kingdom.

For many, a whole day here is not enough – especially if you plan to swap parks – so it’s recommended to buy a multi-day pass if you have more time on your hands.

Areas and Attractions at Hollywood Studios Disney

Disney’s Hollywood Studios® is split into 6 main areas, each dedicated to a different Disney-related theme featuring rides, attractions, shows, shops and restaurants. These areas are Hollywood Boulevard (at the park’s main entrance), Echo Lake, Grand Avenue, Animation Courtyard, Toy Story Land and Sunset Boulevard. See each area below!

Hollywood Boulevard
Sitting right at the entrance and stretching into the park, this long road is filled with themed shops selling Disney® merchandise, as well as a few eateries. There are also a few attractions including The Great Movie Ride, themed around Hollywood classics such as Alien, Casablanca and The Wizard of Oz.

Echo Lake
Themed around Hollywood’s Golden Age of Travel, this small lagoon area promises highlights such as Star Tours – The Adventures Continue (a 3D motion simulator ride), the Jedi Training Academy, (the kids’ chance to get brush up on their lightsabre skills), and also the hugely popular Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, a live-action ride that takes you on your very own adventure through Spielberg’s movie Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Grand Avenue
Themed around the historic district of Los Angeles of the same name, the main attraction of Grand Avenue is Muppet Vision 3D, which is worth checking out for its special effects and amusing storyline. Some of the surrounding dining options also have a Muppets theme.

Toy Story Land
The clue really is in the name at Hollywood Studio’s lively Toy Story Land, with the attractions and rides here dedicated to the Pixar movie series. The big-name attraction here is Toy Story Mania!, which takes you on an interactive 4D adventure through the famous movie along with Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Andy. Animation Courtyard
Head through the archway to explore a world of Disney’s animation in detail, with interactive rides, shows, exhibits and fun meet-and-greets with famous characters (a must-have photo-op!). In the wider area, there are 2 live shows, Disney Junior Live on Stage and Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

Sunset Boulevard
Home of the icon of Disney’s Hollywood Studios®, the huge Tower of Terror, this is the must-visit area for adrenalin seekers.
