Alamo Heights is home to some of the best outdoor and cultural attractions in San Antonio. Families and outdoor enthusiasts can go biking, hiking and birdwatching at the Olmos Basin Park. You can also visit the Japanese Tea Garden, San Antonio Botanical Gardens, and San Antonio Zoo at Brackenridge Park nearby. Another highlight of Alamo Heights is the renowned McNay Art Museum. The museum is housed in a gorgeous Spanish Colonial Revival mansion and displays 19th- and 20th-century American and European works.

If culture and natural history presentations are what you're after, the Witte Museum is a great place to spend an hour or two. The museum is located on the banks of the San Antonio River and displays dinosaur bones, mummies, and information about the history of Texas. Lastly, the DoSeum Museum will keep young kids busy for hours. This children's science museum features interactive, hands-on exhibits that allow children to learn while having tons of fun.

When you visit Alamo Heights, you will be less than 4 miles from the trendy Pearl District. This once-industrial neighbourhood is now a hotspot for arts and culture, restaurants, and nightlife. If you’re there on the weekend, you can pick up local produce and artisan goods from the lively Farmer’s Market.

You can tee off at the historic Quarry Golf Course. The golf course borders the Alamo Quarry Market and dates back to 1908. Chiseled from stone and boasting a unique setting, playing the 18-hole course will be unforgettable. You can easily reach Alamo Heights from downtown San Antonio by automobile, ride-sharing services, and the city’s public transportation network, VIA Metropolitan Transit. Bus routes 9, 10, or 14 also take you to this trendy neighbourhood.
