The best local Thai restaurants in Kata Beach are quite often those furthest away from the fine white sands that make the beach so popular with travelers. Something of a victim of its own success, most restaurants in Kata specialize in European cuisine while those that do offer Thai food often serve heavily westernised versions.

To find real local Thai cuisine, you have to search quite hard – and we did just that. Authentic Thai restaurants in Kata are generally very local, to the extent that almost none of the signs or menus are written in other languages besides Thai. Not only is the flavor undiluted by western preferences, but prices are also genuinely local.
