It’s the third time I stayed in this hotel due to guest rating and price.
However, I was very disappointed in my recent stay and I don’t think I’ll go back any more.
I checked in on Sunday and stayed until the following Saturday. To save resources, we put Do Not Disturb for the first two days as we did not need room cleaning. The third day, I put on Please Make Up Room in the morning before going out for the day. When I returned, the room was not cleaned. I called front desk. They told me rooms are only cleaned on Tuesdays and Fridays.
1. I was not told upfront when I checked in. If I knew, I would have re-strategized when I turned on Make Up Room sign.
2. By the third day, the room really needed attention. There was no toilet brush and we couldn’t clean the bog pan ourselves. We ran out of toilet paper. Garbage needed to be dumped. Floor needed to be cleaned.
While I support sustainability and agree we don’t need to clean the room everyday, cleaning availability only the fixed two days a week is suboptimal.
We made sure we kept the Pleaae Make Up Room on Friday. When we came back, beds were made, garbage was dumped, but no cleaning of tea cups.
3 Probably because of this new lower standard of upkeeping, the wash basin drain and the shower drain were slow despite still functional. I would not be surprised that their conditions would only deteriorate with the new housekeeping policy in place. For this reason, I expect the conditions of the hotel to worsen.
