I had several firsts for India at this hotel
-First time being asked pay additional fees for using my card to pay. The hotel called it an international card fee.
-First time showering with cold water.
-First time ant infestation. I noticed the ants in the room but didn't realize how many got into my luggage. They raised eyebrows at at Kochi airport when I had to open my bag for inspection at security.
-First time having to walk through hotel corridors in pitch black to get to my room.
-First time going to a wellness retreat where massages were not available...the hotel said they didn't do massages on Saturdays. I didn't see any options to do yoga either.
-First time being offered what seemed to be a complimentary meal then finding out, not only that I had to pay a high sum in comparison to other meals had in the region. It was also the smallest portion I'd had in all my entire time in India. When I queried the cost of the meal, I was told it was because I chose the fish (which was small). Again, the Whatsapp correspondence regarding the meal made it sound like it was included in the room rate. And then, even when I chose the fish there was no mention that it was the meal was chargeable and that choosing the fish would be more expensive.
I was really disappointed by this hotel and would not recommend it.
Finally, and this is not the fault of the hotel, it was very hard to get an Uber to pick you up from hotel despite being 20 mins drive from airport.
