I stayed three nights with my three teenage kids on a recent family snowboarding trip to Red River, and overall, the Mountain View Lodge was what we needed it to be. The contactless check-in couldn't have been easier. It's only one mile from everything you could possibly want to do in Red River, and the room was big, comfortable, and everything my family needed. My daughters loved the rustic decor. Overall, the vibe was chill and everyone we met there was nice.
I also loved that the room came with a lot of coffee (cannot overstate how much I liked this), and all the bowls and cups you could ever need, as well as a big refrigerator. We didn't do any cooking, but there was a stove, so we could have. The fridge was great for keeping restaurant leftovers.
The only downside, the only reason I deducted any stars at all, was because your comfort here 100% depends who is staying in the rooms adjacent yours. You can hear everything. On one side, we had a family watching NBA games (Go Spurs!) They weren't any issue because they turned their TV off at a reasonable hour. Then at 2 AM, we were woken up by loud music from the other side, which the people in that room refused to turn off until roughly 3:30 AM despite numerous attempts to get them to. It was so loud they might as well have been in our room blaring it in our faces.
So if you get decent neighbors and don't need absolute silence to function, this place is an insane bargain. I'd stay there again.
