NEVER STAY HERE!!!
Terrible, disgusting, awful. Fleas, bedbugs, no air condition, no sheets, badly stained towels, no extra towels, vomit running down side of bed. Terrible owner. Lied to expedia & refused to refund our money after we did not stay. I would put pics but site won't allow me.

Good location but needs improvement
Good location and OK Wi-Fi, but public areas and rooms in need of renovation or repair. Furnishings are dated and only analog TV with limited selection. No food service beyond vending machines. Attached parking garage also needs modernization although on the plus side, parking was free.

10/10 Exceptional

We stayed in Wheeling to celebrate our 20th anniversary together. We wanted to stay near Oglebay since we got engaged there. Your hotel went above and beyond what was ever expected. From the anniversary card to the decked out room with rose petals on the floor and bed. It put us back to memories of our honeymoon and we couldn't thank you enough. We were so pleased with the stay that we may do this once a year just to keep the feeling alive. We can't thank you enough for the memory for sure! The staff was absolutely amazing and so very helpful! We will definitely be back!!!!!! Amazing stay!

After several generations of poor management and lack of customers this place is a shell of what it once was.

8/10 Very Good

The hotel is under new management (since, maybe, yesterday, from the look of things) and undergoing massive, needed renovation. In fact, the whole neighborhood seems to be under construction. Frankly, I am amazed the hotel is open and functioning at all. But the staff (few and overworked) were fantastic and did everything they could to make it a comfortable stay.

I did not have a reservation because your company failed to inform me that McClure hotel had not confirmed the reservation to you. I felt I Had a reservation since I did not hear from Expedia. I think your company has a responsibility to let a customer know when they have not received a confirmation. Furthermore I think it can be very hard to understand your operators That are from the Philippines. I will not use Expedia again.

From the moment we entered, all you could smell was cigarette smoke and urine. There were loud dogs in a nearby room. Our initial room we were assigned didn’t match our reservation so we were switched to a different room. While it had the king bed, room was very substandard, no toiletries or towels. The actual Toilet was one you might expect in a school bathroom. We left, it was dirty and disgusting.

The McLure is well-located in downtown Wheeling, but that's about the only good thing. The parking garage was trashy and the doors to the hotel hallways were not secured. The rooms were dated and our mattress was totally worn out. The sheets and towels had probably been used a thousand times. The staff was friendly, but they were very apologetic and are obviously feeling defeated trying to keep this property operational.

This hotel has seen better days, with run down property, peeling paint in the bathroom, sounds of dripping drains all night, and an assortment of people at the desk who were not trained to handle the reservation. Hotel parking had no signage and no access to the actual hotel, requiring us to walk outside and around the block through construction with our luggage. The downtown felt like a ghosttown with so much construction andmany buildings vacant. We like to support urban renewal but this hotel was a sad opportunity for that.

Mclure Experience
Not the best check in at an old, run down hotel our friends had warned about. Frazzled clerk was having to turn away guests due to malfunctioning a/c on one of six floors. The building, parking garage, halways and lobby were dingy and outdated in appearance. We got a large room with a comfortable king bed and mismatched furniture, one piece broken. The window blinds did not work properly. The duvet cover was permastained compelling us to check the bedding which was clean. The television presented a grainy picture, reminiscent of the sixties with an antenna feed. Bathroom towels were sparse and thread bare. There was no floor mat or soap. The a/c was loud and not functioning well. There were precious few receptacles for charging and they were all at a four foot height. The carpet dirtied bare feet. We would have moved to another hotel but no other rooms were available in town convenient to the festival that we were attending.

Quite possibly the worst hotel in the United States. Smelly & moldy. This hotel is a total scam. The photos advertised are not what the actual hotel looks like. Beware! It’s a scam. Again, moldy and a feeling of yuckiness.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean but no pillow cases and smelled like cannabis. No sign on the building except for a small historic plaque. Parking garage was not secure and elevator smelled of urine. Did not feel secure staying at this location.

We made our stay short .What a horrible experience. High crime area with yelling in the lobby late at night and all niight long outside . We feared for our safety and well being.we left one day early not even caring aboiut any returned money if any.You charged me $178.00 for 2 nights stay. The hotel gae me a redoep[t for $129.00. Never again will I go through you or ever stay in that dump again.I won't go into all the terrible conditions of the room.I feel if they did their jobs correctly they could see it for themselves.Take plenty of bug spray as the knats were terrible.

Don’t stay here.
Made arrangements on Hotels.com, prepaid for the room, when we arrived the front desk acted as though they had no idea any arrangements or payment happened.

After the clerk took my card and processed the payment, we were informed the room we asked for had no AC. She offered a different room with smaller beds with AC. Asked for a King room, offered a Double room. We then asked for a refund and were told that we would have to wait until the next clerk started in two hours, midnight. We had just worked all day and drove four hours. We did not want to wait. Hopefully, the solution that was offered will work and we will get a refund. Had we were told BEFORE my card was run about the AC, it would have been better. She was kind and pleasant but I think full disclosure before would have been better. We were tired and this did not help.

The hotel is in rough condition. The air conditioning was not functioning properly, and the fan was directly connected to the lights, so when the lights were turned off, so was the fan. It was a hot, miserable night.
