Amazing hotel and property, awesome snorkeling.
The hotel and beach are so nice! Snorkeling on the left side of the beach along the coast was the best we experienced on the big island or Kauai. My only regret is that we stayed and snorkeled here first and so my expectations were set extremely high. Nothing compared! A must stay.

Upon arrival the lobby's views were breath taking. Guests are greeted at the desk with refreshments, hand towel and a fresh lei. We stayed in a 1 King Bed, Lanai, Resort View room. The room had a partial ocean view. The lanai was very spacious. The property and beach was very relaxing, and quiet. Perfect for couples, or a solo trip.

Lovely Resort
We have been to the other Hawaiin Islands on previous trips but this was our first trip to the Big Island. We stayed at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort We had a premier ocean view room which looked directly out over the beach. It was lovely. Beautiful resort with gorgeous landscaping Our room was very nicely appointed and clean. The service from everyone was excellent. Very friendly and accomodating. The food was better than we expected based on other reviews we read. In fact it was quite good. No complaints. The food is expensive as is the resort overall but not out of line when compared to other establishments on the Island.

Overall, I really liked this hotel. It’s very well located, a beautiful property, and the service is very pleasant. Perhaps due to the time we visited (September), it felt a bit deserted, lacking atmosphere. The restaurants were fairly average, and by 10 PM, there wasn’t much to do. We also found it quite expensive, though this seems to be the norm in Hawaii.

Absolutely incredible hotel. It took our breath away from the moment we walked in and saw the vista from the lobby. The staff could not have been better, upgrading us to the executive suit and giving us a complimentary bottle of champagne for my birthday. Developed severe food borne illness after consuming their “sleep well” tuna wrap. Experienced disappointing customer service through the entirety of my visit with the exception of the pool restaurant food & staff. Over priced, understaffed, and poor customer service unfortunately leaves me never wanting to return. Arrived to celebrate my daughter’s friend’s birthday and had to forgo festivities because I was so sick. Manager only offered to comp the meal. Towels run out quickly and out of luck if you want to sit at pool after 4. Also beach staff will make you get towels from the pool which is inconvenient and frustrating when traveling with toddlers. I’ve stayed at Westin before and this was nothing like service I’ve had at other 4 star hotels. Disappointed to say the very least. Won’t be back. Room had lots of bugs and had cleaning staff clean off a larvae nest on ceiling of room. Took forever to checkin. Book direct might be the way to go. Seems like they don’t care about Orbitz guests.

We spent four days at the Westin Hapuna Beach Resort during the last week of June and LOVED every minute of it! This property is pristine and peaceful, with numerous spots to relax and view the ocean. Every member of the staff that we interacted with was friendly and welcoming, from the valet to check-in to housekeeping. On our first morning there, we went to the breakfast buffet, which is BOUNTIFUL and DELICIOUS! When our server found out that it was our 20th wedding anniversary, she brought us complimentary guava mimosas and a huge serving of bananas foster. It was very sweet! And, although we enjoyed the restaurant meals, we found that the little "grab and go" market provided quality hot breakfast items (which was great for the day we left for a tour at 6:30am) as well as tasty sandwiches and salads for light dinners or quick lunches (and it is inexpensive). The coffee bar was a convenient necessity as well. For beach and pool time, we found that the umbrellas, beach chairs and towels were plentiful; we never went without The ocean here is pretty and nice to swim in, but if you want to experience a truly GORGEOUS beach with crystal clear water, go to the beach at Mauna Kea. You can hike the one-mile trail along the shoreline (which we did) OR take the complimentary hotel shuttle (it runs every half hour). It's heaven! I stayed in the ocean there all day and never wanted to leave... We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hapuna Beach resort. It was well worth the expense!
