This property is stunning inside and out. Beautifully decorated. Unfortunately our visit was tarnished when no one was available to let us in. We tried calling, texting, messaging through the Travelocity app, with no response. In desperation I found hidden keys and went in. We found no one there and were reluctant to stay, so we called again. Finally at 6:30 we decided to try again. We settled in one of the guest rooms. Jim came in several minutes later and said he was looking for Linda as well. She appeared about 7pm with no explanation. It's truly unfortunate that this occurred because this should have been the best B&B of our trip.

Sleepless in Portland
The room was claustrophobic Tony The room was claustrophobic to my wife with something occupying the whole room. The bed springs were so noisy that you couldn’t move without waking the other up. Similarly the door to the room could not be opened without waking the other occupant. By 4;00a after spending most of the night awake my wife said she wanted to leave; so we got ready and left. The owner Linda was cordial and pleasant but we couldn’t get passed the room.

Comfortable, clean, friendly. Delicious baked apple and French toast for breakfast. Would stay here again when visiting Portland. Convenient location— few minutes drive to Old Port and close to the Downeaster train station.

The value wasn't good, $200 per night to stay here is expensive; but Portland, ME this time of year is fully booked and prices are inflated, but this place is outdated.

This B&B was perfect, a renovated family homestead with lots of charm. Even arriving very late after the standard check in time, the proprietor waited for my arrival with a warm welcome. With The Bay Room, one can enjoy a queen size bed, private bath, bathrobes and a well pressurized shower. Breakfast was homemade making you feel right at home. I wish I had more time to enjoy the comfy living room with a cup of tea and a book.
