We were here for a weekend attending a family wedding. We wished we could have stayed longer! This is a beautiful, peaceful and very comfortable property with an excellent location and view! The hosts made sure we had everything we needed to feel pampered--very comfortable bed, soft sheets and quilt, robes, wine, snacks, coffee, tea.

The location is wonderful. I was on my way to the airport after a trip to the Channel Islands and needed a nice stopover. This was perfect! The apartment is stunning with an equally amazing view. I enjoyed coffee on the patio while watching the ocean and the birds that love the garden in front of the house.

I'm not sure why the photos don't do this apartment justice (they're accurate), but this place is better in person. Wonderful balcony with ocean views, a gas fireplace, suitcase stand, and a welcome bottle of wine made this apartment a gem of a find. Beach and one restaurant (Neptune's Nest) are walking distance, everything else is a drive. Very close to Grotto Trail as described on modern walker site.

This place is the cutest we have ever visited. It is in a great location near the beach, and has a wide ocean view. Communication with the host was easy, she is very responsive and helpful. We would certainly stay again. Shauna and Luke

We recently rented The Mermaid House for three nights while in CA visiting relatives. It was just the relaxing and beautiful setting that we were hoping it would be. The apartment was fully appointed and we especially appreciated the coffee, tea and oatmeal for breakfast. The bottle of wine upon our arrival was perfect, as we could marvel at the sun setting over the Pacific as we sipped our wine on the balcony. We liked the quiet location, yet easy access to restaurants and shops. Having a fireplace for the chilly evenings was an added bonus. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen fully equipped. Having a washer and dryer gave us flexibility on packing. Barbara was great to work with and made everything very easy.

Had a wonderful stay at Mermaid House! The setting is so beautiful with a stunning view of the ocean. Close enough to LA but far enough away to be in your own paradise. Would recommend to anyone looking for a true getaway.

The most amazing stay ever! Barb is a fantastic host with wine, coffee and snacks. House is incredible with views of the ocean beautifully decorated and cozy. Close to beach and Neptune’s net. I wanted to cry when it was time to go home. I am making plans to go back soon.
