I liked the lounge area on the first floor, staff were very kind, and the room was large with all the amenities we needed. Fluffy towels, comfy bed, although the pillows could have been better - they were either too hard or flat as a pancake - medium weight please.
The hotel did run out of umbrellas one day, which I think could be solved with an umbrella return rack in the entrance. Then guests don’t hoard umbrellas in their bedrooms, especially during rainy season.
Also, our room didn’t have a sign to hang on the door to decline or request room service. So we did get woken up one morning, and had we been staying longer I would have requested a sign.
Overall, I would definitely stay again because of how quiet and nicely laid out the room was, the convenient location near Kyoto station, the laundry room that was handy, and the comfy bed.
