I got a room over the road even in a empty hotel, one tiny pillow and slow wifi, overall I was not impressed.

Good room, food, parking, access to bus. Grocery (Edeka) across the street. 10 min on bus to downtown. Same family has had property since 1820’s!

Hotel Zum Schiff
Lovely typically German hotel on the outskirts of Freiburg. Great selection at breakfast and very comfortable room. Bus stop (no. 14) outside to right of hotel takes you to the Hauptbanhoff then about a 7 min walk to the centre.

This hotel was disgusting. I doubt the carpets have ever been cleaned. They smelled as soon as you enter. In fact, all the common areas smelled. And the STAINS!!! The room was not much better. There were hairs on the bathroom floor (yes, both kinds). Why didn't I notify the owners? Why bother? Were they going to clean it up for me. It was CHEAP and you get what you pay for but I am writiing this review in hopes no one else makes the mistake we did.

A nice place to stay in Frieberg
This was a nice one night stay for us in an auto tour of germany. It had convenient underground parking. The air conditioning was a little warm for american standards. Other than that, everything was gine.

Large room, friendly staff, onsite parking. Hotel allows guests to borrow a bicycle for use in exploring Freiburg, which is a great perk.
