The location is lovely, as is the building, the bar was good and the food was too, there was no TV in our room, which may be good for walkers as this seems to be the appeal for the area, but as a family with two children it would of been good to have had a TV, I dont think I have ever stayed in a room which hasn't had one in 20 years in staying in hotels, the room was spacious though

Family Stay
Our family of four really enjoyed our stay at the New Ing Lodge. Our family-size room was spacious, clean, and charmingly decorated and the bathroom was large, modern (with a shower stall and separate tub) and new. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Best of all was the made-to-order breakfast of eggs and/or sausage and bacon. We could not have been happier and wished we had time to stay longer.

An array of services on offer including dinner and a bar, plus packed lunches. There isn’t much to be seen in Shap so we were lucky to be staying here.

Terrific stay before heading onto the Lake District. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They served an unbelievable breakfast! A definite return visit is in order. There was a snafu with our prepaid room charges through Hotels.com and the Lodge charged us also. upon our return home, Hotels.com and the Lodge reversed the double billing within 24 hours.
