one bed for two men not a good look staff very good very clean room
The best thing was the air-conditioned room; that was a godsend on a 40-degree day. The hotel, including the bathrooms, was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable. And the price was cheap. To be honest, I think this hotel has traditionally been a working man's hotel, and so it has simple features suited to that market. It's not really aimed at tourists. For example, in the shared bathrooms, there are no bath mats, and there is a sign on the wall asking guests to clean up after themselves. If, historically, this has been an issue, then fair enough, and I'd hope most guests would do so. But the sign is not what you would expect usually- the tourist expectation being that the point of being on holidays is not having to worry about such things. The hotel appears to be under-staffed. The young woman who checked us in was also one of only two staff on, and they were waiting for beer while she tried to work out how to do it, which took 10-15 minutes all up. Then a security guard (?) materialised to show us to our room, but didn't. He took us to the door, and gave directions. I don't want silver service, but actually checking if we (a) found the room, (b) understood its features, (c) were happy with it, (d) had any questions, and (e) made us feel welcome would be what I'd call pretty basic hospitality. The air conditioning I mentioned before had one major flaw- it was incredibly noisy, like a crop dusting plane, creating around 40 decibels of noise.

Great value for an older style hotel. Bathrooms where clean and modern. Rooms well maintained. Check in clerk carried my 80yo fathers bags up the stairs.
