We stay at several vrbo's a year, and to date this is the cleanest, most well stocked one we have been to ( there was even contact solution, bug spray, marshmallows and fresh flowers throughout, plus lot of shampoo and showering supplies). There is a nice firepit out back with some lights around it (we were not lucky enough to find the plug though) and a little house nearby the firepit containing music and blankets and such. We bought some firewood, set up our badminton set and had a nice evening in the yard. There is a cute garden that my husband enjoyed sitting on the bench and having lunch at. This house has a lot of adorable sitting spaces, the outdoor porch would be nice if you are there when it is not the middle of summer heat. The kitchen is so well stocked, and there is a nice weber grill out back, so you have plenty of choices if you want to eat in, with plenty of seats at the table, and extra bar stools as well. The sleeping accommodations were comfortable, and the fresh flowers there cute as well. The location next to the bike path is sweet, we used it daily for jogging and biking, and riding to town is very doable. You will hear some traffic sound as you are on a road that leads to town, but it did not bother our group. Our only suggestions would be to provide more towels, and maybe some fans for the upstairs as the air conditioning struggles to work its way up if you are there when it is very hot like we were. There also was an abundance of ants which I am sure they will get on. All in all though, loved this spot, and how clean and well stocked it was. If you need eating ideas, the Filling Station has great pizza, beer and salads. The Apache Trout Grill is nearby , on the water, and has good food - go early or late. We went at 8:30 and only waited 10 minutes and food was delivered super fast. Gallagher's has great cherry products ( chocolate covered, salsa's, cinnamon rolls, etc).

Great spot directly on the TArt trail, and close to vineyards and downtown traverse city. The house is adorable and had everything we needed for a family of four, including a fire pit and s’mores!

My wife is an interior designer and from the moment we stepped foot inside she was in love. We have stayed at dozens of homes but this one by far takes the cake. Unbelievable. Thank you Marissa!

This farmhouse is absolutely charming. The decor is warm and fun and the place was very clean. So conveniently located! Right outside of Traverse City but still felt secluded. We are looking forward to staying here again!

The Martin Farmhouse is exceptional! We arrived late in the day, to a lovely, CLEAN, inviting, and comfortable home! We loved being away from the city, yet close enough to all of our favorite beaches, bike trails, activities, restaurants, and shops! This home away from home, was just what we needed! This home was just as beautiful as its surroundings. We loved the decor with each room uniquely and thoughtfully put together. The backyard lights and fire pit were such a nice touch. The house is right next to the bike trail and we rode our bikes into Traverse City many times and absolutely loved it. It’s not a quiet wilderness retreat necessarily, the road was quite noisy but this was easily overlooked because of all the other benefits of the home. We did use white noise apps on our phones at night since we stayed for a whole week and like our sleep and that worked well. Overall, we loved this place. It felt brand new and sparkly clean.

My wife and I stayed here for our wedding anniversary. From the time we booked until we left the owner, Marissa, had great communication. The initial email had a huge list of things to do, places to eat, and recommendations on the best the Traverse City area had to offer. As we first walked in we were welcomed with a plate of fresh donuts and apple cider! The house is as described. A old farm house with a modern update. The weather was cold and rainy but the house was warm and cozy. Everything is updated but the house was decorated with antique items. It made us feel welcome. She has a fully equipped kitchen (minus a microwave), a television with Apple TV and drawers full of dvds and board games. The yard is big and surrounded by trees with no neighbors. The paved trail runs right up the side of the property with easy access. It was all the small details of the house that made it so great. From the lighting, to the decor, blankets, furniture, books. We are already planning a summer vacation up north and plan on bringing our kids to stay here. Thanks again Marissa !

Beautifully redone farmhouse, authentic farmhouse decor with quality craftsmanship. My wife, two daughters, in laws and I visited northern Michigan for a family gathering and some down time. Hiked Sleeping Bear Dunes, biked Mackinaw Island and boated on Torch Lake. Ate at home each night and enjoyed the outdoor fire pit. Only reason for 4 vs 5 stars is there is only one bathroom and lights and noise from highway made for early mornings. We would definitely stay here again.
