West Texas Trip
Property was clean. had to ask for fresh towels. Asked for waste baskets to be emptied but had to empty myself. Overall a very convenient location. right across from Sul Ross Univ. Great spot to stay if going to Big Bend, Marfa, Ft. Davis and Marathon.

The staff were nice and helpful. The hotel is very old and rooms are very small. Due to COVID the pool is out of service and not maintained. Bathrooms are dated and not easy to access.

Quite possibly the smallest bathroom I've ever had the occasion to use! And I've been to Asia! I'm 6'1" tall and broad shouldered. The commode faces the opposing wall. Yes, my knees touched!! Once I stepped around it (it being the commode) to get in the shower, I really couldn't move more than a few inches without hitting something. And, the bed. This is an ancient, lumpy spring bed that squeaked like something out of an old western. The exterior was really cool and very well kept, save the pool which has been unceremoniously closed due to "covid". That said, we arrived at 5pm to find no one at the front desk and a series of envelopes with names taped on the front door. Our name was, not surprisingly, misspelled. Finally, a note about the wifi. There is wifi but zero notation about passwords anywhere. (Reminder: NO front desk either!) Once we found a working phone number to call, we were given a password that...didn't work. Our final assessment: We were heading to big bend and thought it would be cool to check out Alpine and Marfa. Just, keep driving.

The second time we have stayed here. Very quiet, cute, lovely staff. I wish the pool was open, but besides that, it is an easy and charming place to stay close to Big Bend.

What a quaint little hotel! The room was very nice. What wasn’t nice was the slow WiFi, and the lack of water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was a joke considering how much we paid for the room. The staff could have done a better job staying on top of this. Oddly enough I would consider staying here again because they are pet friendly, and they cheerfully gave me a refund when I cancelled the second night.

Great stay at Maverick Inn
Very cute and spacious room. Plenty of space for 4 people. Very neat property. Pool looked good but it was too cold for the kids to swim. Staff was outstanding. I left an item behind and they quickly found it and mailed it to me. Short drive to the restaurants and shops in Alpine. Will definitely stay there again.

Older motel but very cute and maintained. We were comfortable. The Southwestern decor ambience puts you in the mood for exploring Alpine, Big Bend and Marfa.
