Royal Inn Taipei Nanxi - MRT Zhongshan Station

Stayed in the hotel for 7 nights for easy access to MRT and a short 10 mins walk to Taipei Main station (for day tours to other cities). The hotel room is very well cleaned daily and the facilities are well maintained. Like the Japanese minimalist and modern design. The beds were comfortable but the pillows were too flat for my liking. Breakfast was provided. Small spread but sufficient to get ur day ready. With shin kong mitsukoshi right opposite, shopping is very accessible. Ningxia night market was also 10 mins walk away.

This was a wonderful hotel in a great location. The breakfast was awesome and the room was very clean. Also a nice city view. This is probably usual for most hotels in Taipei, but the roof in the bathroom was pretty low so I had to bend down to stand in the shower and i'm 6ft. Not a big deal, since everything else was great!

Clean room and excellent service, especially from Alley Lin, the front desk staff who is always smiling and has probably the sweetest smile I have ever seen! She threw her sweet smiles to every guest who passed by the front desk, which is located on 8th floor. The hotel location is superb, just next to Zhongshan MRT station, but it's a long staircase leading down to the MRT station, with no escalator or elevator, which may pose a physical challenge for the elderly. There are plenty of eating options at both Shin Kong Mitsukoshi and Eslite, just across the street. The downside of this hotel is that the room is extremely small. Luckily they have a lounge on the 8th floor where guests can hang around at, with free coffee and tea. They also do not have a gym for fitness freaks like me, who needs to work out even during vacations and business trips. But, at their price, there's really nothing much to complain. They offer such a ridiculously cheap price for a clean and well-maintained accommodation in the center of Taipei! I had expected a lot worse for this kind of pricing and the fact that they label themselves as an inn rather than a hotel. They also provide complimentary buffet in their lounge, as well as free self-service laundry/dryer on the 10th floor. This is a pretty decent hotel to stay at if you are on a business trip or vacations with someone you do not really need to impress a lot.

Overall a nice experience. Bed is firm & room size is adequate. The amenities seems a bit dated but clean. Only let down is the bath towels( holes). Breakfast is acceptable- they offer more asian spread than western.

Location and staff are excellent. Room (not facing the street) was quiet). Breakfast buffet was satisfactory. Door to the bathroom in guest room needs to be replaced.

The room was in a decent size, clean and sufficient. Breakfast venue n hotel lobby are not big but sufficient. Very good and convenient location, accessible from MRT station. I don’t mind staying there again if I were to visit Taipei again. Only challenge is that since the hotel lobby is on level 8 of the building, it may not be easy to find when you go for the first time. Must pay attention to the address, marking on the building. Overall, very pleased with the stay!

The bed is comfy but the upkeep is bad.. Carpet is dirty, wall paper is loose and you can see black mold in shower.

The Hotel is located just walking distance from Zhongshang station and one metro station away from Taipei Metro Station. Also the hotel is close to many restaurants and shopping outlets. It is perfect for business travellers.
