The Village Kings Cross - Hostel

The check in receptionist was not very polite or happy when I went to check in. The room had trash on the floor and the bed was dusty because the window was open. The bunk bed had no ladder( it had been removed). And some of the screws were coming out of the bed rails. I know the place can not control the people but the ladies in the room would yell at night and there was no posted lights out and they would keep the lights on talking until after 11:00pm. I checked out early and found a different hotel because it was so bad.

Nice and close to the train station and to other hostels so opportunities to meet other people. Could use some more bathrooms and possibly separate the toilets and showers

Very handy to the train station, supermarket, cafes, restaurants etc. I had a private room- just be aware there is no air conditioning. There will be a small desk fan which was okay but I was only there for 3 nights and the weather was not too hot. Sound proofing is poor as it is an old building. Shared bathrooms (3 per floor) were quite dirty due to the number of people sharing them e.g. other people's shavings on basin, wet towels, broken soap dispenser, no toilet paper. Often have to wait for a while for a bathroom as well! Mattress was extremely uncomfortable and I could feel the springs.

DJ party 10m from the window til 2am; which then the party moved into the hallway outside my room until past 5am. No overnight support AT ALL. Happened both times I stayed. Will not staying again. Will not recommend.

This hostel has not been renovated so it has an old style vibe which is cool, it has private bathrooms which is a plus and a rooftop which is pretty nice. Located near Harris farmers market and king's Cross station which is a big plus, enjoyable walk to the Botanical gardens. Overall my stay was not bad :) 3/5

I had a really nice stay here for a week. I was in the 10 person mixed dorm, and the people I shared with were super nice, some had been there for a while. The location of the hostel is really convenient, as you can catch a train from Kings Cross Station to anywhere. I will definitely stay here again

I have seen cockroaches running in my room for many times, and the building is in despair. The toilets are unclean as well.

No A/C in the rooms or in the common space (kitchen) even when 40° reached. Someone stole our (expensive) cheese inside of our labeled bag in the common fridge. When reported to the Receptionist, nothing was done (no investigation, no compensation, no apologies even .........) The cleaning lady is a sunshine and most of the staff are nice but one of the receptionist (Sophia i believe) is rude and very cold (no smile ever). Could do much better. The rooftop closes at 9pm and the kitchen at 10pm.

バッドバグが凄すぎて全然眠れませんでした。３日間滞在したのですが、１日目ですでに36箇所も刺され、さすがにそのベットで寝たくなかったので２日目と３日目は外で寝ることに。ただお金を捨てただけです。
